this game is one of the best game of last gen. huge ambitious game with excellent atmosphere and graphical powerhouse ie Crysis 1 but in bigger scale. made by tiny studio.

this game get plenty of hate here because like every good game. but this Metro series has done so much for gaming industry past decade. franchise debut in 2010 and end in 2019.

a masterpiece franchise that was.

Cant wait what 4A are doing next. new IP and Metro 4.

I still have this game on my backlog. I heard it utilizes the feature of the DualSense controller, something you can't experience with a keyboard and mouse 😎

It's true Last Light was a million times better going semi open world ruined the game.

they show far cry 3 footage in middle and LOL that looks like cartoonish compare to this.

anyways. 2033 was best Metro by far.

More than a decade after Crysis and still couldn't do what Crysis did.

Metro 2033 surpassed Crysis 1 in every way.

Exodus however did Crysis 1 on bigger scale and they are far more tiny than EA and Crytek were.

Far Cry 3 is the better game though.

Extremely quick enemies respawn on ranger hardcore has completely ruined the game for me. Impossible to explore the god damn map when what you've just killed has already respawned 3 minutes later.

Still in my backlog picked it up for cheap on ps5 heard good things nice that there's a next gen version.

I guess PC gamers have a hard time aiming 😆

@warmblur: Its not. FC3 had taging enemies, see through walls, Long cutcscenes that are unskipabble. It was step back from FC2.

Loved Metro Exodus. probably my favorite game from 2018 or whenever it came out.

lot of recent games getting hate around here despite they are as good as and even better than older games.

probably most of peoples are in 40s and get bored with gaming. nothing to do with games quality.

Yep, that's me except for the part about being bored with gaming modern gaming. It has everything to do with quality Metro Exodus is not a bad game it's decent at best it's not the masterpiece like you claim it is.

1 hour 39 mins? i'm bored enough to come on system wars but not bored enough to watch all that.

exodus was ok. best of a bad bunch. had a bit of a split personality disorder. couldn't make its mind up if it was tightly scripted on rails like the previous two or an open sandbox. felt jarring keep flitting between the two. but it wasn't without its moments.

lot of old games are crap like lot of modern games are crap. most of modern games are crap doesnot mean we still dont have masterpieces. some of games get hate here regardless of quality. as of recent. Doom Eternal, Deathloop, Metro Exodus, Hitman 3 (which very few people actually play. a nichie series) are all quality titles in recent year.

Dude we get it you like Metro, you aren't going to sell the game on anyone 3 years later.

It's a good game with a cult following, but there's a reason it has a CULT following, it's not everyone's cup of tea.

And don't base your entire gaming personality around Metro, it's ok to branch out my man, be yourself.

I really like Yakuza 0, one of my favorite games of all time, but you don't see me making threads all the time trying to convince people it's a masterpiece.

Not true and you know it, it's just my favorite sub genre.

The only reason I want to play it again is to see the Series X updates. Right now 2033 and Last Light are still my favorites. In short I felt the first couple games mixed the experience up quite well, mixing human drama, action, stealth, dealing with human enemies, monster, experiencing bizarre paranormal bits, never dragging out in one area too long. Exodus doesn't do any of this as effectively. The train moments drag out rhe human drama way too long. Stealth and open world really drags out exploration whereas in original it was open yet confined enough to help pace things.

Game was ass.

As someone already pointed out, them going open-world only shone a huge spotlight on how their previous two games’ linear design wasn’t compatible with the new direction. It didn’t feel like an open world…..it felt like an on-rails train ride with only more area to walk around in.

Which was literally what it was for as much as I care to recall. Why did it need to be open-world? What benefits did it bring?

Metro is best new series debut last decade. Plus its one of the best trilogy in gaming.

All joking aside though, I wasn't harsh on the first two games, but Exodus did nothing for me and for some reason I took a disliking to it. Maybe because it was praised for being an open-world game and held in comparison to STALKER, which eh, kind of rubs me wrong. Whatever though, who knows.

Never played a game in the series until I bought exodus. Turned it off around 5 hours in. Atmosphere seemed alright, but the dialogue, story, and setup, was so ham-fisted that it was hard to get through the opening sequences. It also doesn't help that the sound design with dialogue is utterly broken and fades in and out. You'd think a supposed AAA game could afford competent voice acting and sound design.

In a world saturated with post apocalyptic games, can't say I was impressed. I may go back to it if I'm totally bored.

Metro Exodus wasn't all that bad and it was the first AAA game build around using Ray-Tracing, so yeah, I too enjoy it for what it's worth. I would like to replay it someday if I wasn't so busy playing newer games.

It hardly gets any hate, the hate comes from Ghost talks too much of it when we get it already. It's great, please move on.

There are STALKER vibe in some levels. not deep one but still.

however its Metro, its not comparable to STALKER and should be judge on its own merits.

Not only the dialogue, the game was plagued with other sound issues as well. Running had it sounding like your guy was doing a tap dance with two-three times the amount of steps that would be required to cover the distance in-game. That alone made it intolerable to play for more than a few minutes.

The game was a massive step down from their previous two, I think it was just a case of biting off more than they could chew.
