i thought ps4 would climb to about 80k... but 140k? very very impressive.

the actual sales of monster hunter. ummm...i thought it would be some huge record and sell 2M or something. but nope... but still it might outsell splatoon and mario on switch. that is a huge accomplishment in japan if it happens.

I don't see why Capcom released Monster Hunter World on the Xbox One, but not the Switch. Before this one takes off, the most successful installment is on a Nintendo platform (3DS). Beyond annoyed. This series sells well on Nintendo platforms:

Monster Hunter 3

Wii: 1.9 million

3DS: 2.6 million

Monster Hunter 4 (and Ultimate)

3DS: 8.2 million

Monster Hunter Gen

3DS: 4.3 million

Monster Hunter XX (take in mind this ONLY released in Japan)

it was explained by capcom.

they said the game was in development for 4 years on ps4/xbox. switch just came out last year. it was too late.
they would have to compromise a lot to get it running and their vision of a pretty monster hunter would be better realized on PC/xbox/PS4

This doesn't surprise me at all. I play with way more Japanese gamers than English. It's funny watching the hit points pop off the monsters in Japanese symbols lol.
