I have been skeptical about many games lately (RE7, Horizon, Zelda, etc) and they all ended up being amazing! I love Mass Effect, so i'll risk and say 9/10 here and 89/100 on metacritic.

I want to say 9, but 8.5 is more likely. Then again, I'm one of the few people in the world who liked ME3's ending(s).

To tell you the truth I am trying to get hyped about this, but having trouble. I was a huge ME fan throughout the original trilogy, bought all the DLC for all 3 games, bought some of the art posters, even bought a hoodie (hell, I bought an XBox 360 back in the day just to play ME1 and AC1). But here, 4 years after the last one, I just don't know.

Probably a combination of a lot of things are dampening my hope that it will be good - all the unnecessary crafting stuff that looks like it is shoe-horned in busy work to make the game take longer, the lack of classes, the fact that even though it has moved to a whole new engine the facial animations and movement animations are still really bad, and I am not loving any of the new squad-mates or aliens. From what several of the people who have played it recently say it also looks like it is rushed and needs a few more months polish (they wouldn't even let them record footage to show their playthroughs). Not to mention how empty the ending of ME3 still is.

I am mildly optimistic that it may be good, but unlike any of the previous games this one is not a pre-order/day-one for me. I'm waiting for some reviews before I sink my time and money into this one.

I saw the EA page that indicates the Min is good for 1280x720 Low 30 fps, and the recommended is good for 1920x1080 High... also 30 fps. So still not good enough for Ultra or even High with a solid 60 fps.

And my specs are at the recommended (my 1060 having 6 GB) so I'm gonna see what kind of settings I can mix & match to get mostly High with at least 50 fps. I'll prioritize the textures and lighting (occlusion) and lower some others to Med. If I'm lucky maybe I'll get just the textures alone to Ultra and the rest High/Med with close to 60 fps.

Or maybe it'll be another case of inaccurate info? I can remember my older specs (FX 6300 and R9 380) being below the min requirements for DOOM (what Steam indicated), and still getting a great performance of High (just a couple settings dialed down) and even 70+ fps. Gotta wonder with these "official" readings sometimes. ?

@AdobeArtist: As always, they're bloated. I think you'd be able to run it at the highest quality possible. (1080p)

If those targeted specs for those settings.... Only a few things can explain that.

1. Poor optimization

2. Pushing Frostbite 3 engine to the max needing the hardware umph... Even with BF1 64MP i can play ultra settings at 1080p with a solid 60 fps.

3. Those spec/settings are early guess work over bloating the requirements. (The link was posted back in January)

If the 1st and or 2nd on list end up correct it seems ill have to upgrade sooner rather than later.

Got a feeling it will end up like DA:I.. forgotten in months.

I really don't know how to feel about the game atm, I'm so anxious about it, hope it delivers.

I'm sure it'll be fun to play. Biotic combos and gunplay looks great (so is the world). But the writing, voice acting and story may be a huge fail. This is the vibe i'm getting from all the videos released.

@silversix_: I'm almost in line with you, the gameplay seems so promising, at the end of the day when it comes to videogames that's what matters, the thing is, this is Mass Effect we're talking about, the franchise famous for having some of the most well-defined and well-developed characters, I mean is there any game out there that can match the characterization and character devolopment of Mass Effect 2? I don't think so.

So, the game shouldn't fail in that department, that would be such a let down.

I think this will be a 9 like Dragon Age: Inqusition. Good game, but w/o Shepherd fans might find a feeling of emptiness in the series.

@speedytimsi: Mass Effect was much bigger than Shepard, tbh. It was clear from the first game through the Codex that this is a massive universe with so much to explore.

Path Finder/Rider is such a generic name. I hate what you'll be called in Adromeda. Give the damn character a name, not this generic shit.

Hope you weren't expecting the NPC's to address the protagonist from thousands of first name variations that players will assign. It's gotta be either by a title, or the fixed family name - which is Ryder with a y btw.

Oh so its Ryder. I thought its "Rider" cuz he rides stuff lol. I didn't expect them to record a bunch of different names. What i expected is to have a decent name such as Shepard. Not too generic nor too exotic.

But anyway, I have no problem with Ryder as a character name, as one with enough familiarity but far from oversaturated like "Smith" or "Johnson". Appeal one way or another comes down to subjectivity. Take it or leave it. ?
