Marvel's Avengers gets deeply emotional trailer bringing hope to the world

Hello friends, this landmark title will be released soon on Steam, and (I think?) is released other places.

Will you be ignoring the negative press and giving a shot? Did you try the Beta?

I played the beta on the Xbox One and found it kind of fun. I am a big Marvel fan though so I could be a little biased. I wouldn’t mind getting this myself but with next gen just around the corner I’m trying to hold off from purchasing too many games before then. Also really want to get Super Mario 3D All-Stars first instead.

Anyway that trailer was kind of weak. "Thank you for standing by us?" What does that mean? During COVID? Or during all the bad press?

Yes let's praise the fanboy simpletons that, through their buying power, lead the game industry into tepid waters. God forbid we stop, realize a game is bad*, and say "Nah I'm not going to buy this" instead of "OMFG AVENGERS TAKE MY MONEY!"

*reserving judgement until the game is actually released, just saying "Bad" because it seems like people think it is.

Be interesting to see how well this sells. if the negative press matches the reality of Joe Shmo who just consume product.

Definition of a dogshit trailer. When you have youtube shills hired/paid to be enthusiastic about your product, you know we're in the Anthem territory. This was paintful to watch. I would play vanilla F76 over this. Yes, F76.

Nah. I've come to the conclusion that they made the wrong game. It was the most obviously logical kind of commercial product to make considering the source material and market trend, but in terms actually making a good game, I believe they had the wrong ideas from the start.

The trailer is kind of appalling tbh. This is a very greedy and cynical game. Trying to give it a human face doesn’t change that.

Too bad they butchered the marketing and live in post Avengers movie era where people rather play the movie versions of heroes.

This game is really fun. Dont know why some of y'all are sleeping on it. Oh well

Yeah The trailer doesn’t match with what they’re trying to do with this game. Gonna have microtransactions out the wazoo. They haven’t changed anything fundamental to the game based on feedback. They are just thanking the people that are excited to play the game despite knowing it’s gonna be sticking its hand out every loading screen looking for a buck here and there. At least with destiny for a considerable amount of time it had solid gameplay, no microtransactions, and free cosmetics.

@ghosts4ever: that’s Greg Miller saying “this is awesome, I want to play this” he just loves super heroes and video games but he isn’t the type that will moan about shady stuff in games, for better or for worse.

Pass, I don't mind grindy live service games as long as gameplay looks fun, but gameplay doesn't look fun for this. Thankfully there's a few Marvel licensed Lego games that are fun to play that I have yet to.

Interesting strategy - I think they know the reviews will be tepid at best. But they can tell us now, and the reviewers: you wanted this. You cried with joy. We could have abandoned it due to covid or something something - but you got it. EAT IT UP

I can't understood why Marvel's Avengers is getting somewhat of a free pass by the gaming media and its not even on Spider-Man PS4 quality game. I'm a Marvel guy and even I say it looks like crap!

Yikes !!! they know is bad. They are practically beggin for people to buy the game ... maybe the pre orders were much lower than they were anticipating.

Personally, everytime i see gameplay for this game, it looks so shallow, empty and even hearthless, so yeah.

Coolyfett has been playing the game since the Sept 4th launch. Coolyfett didn't play the beta. There is much negative press that is for sure, not sure who the negativity is aimed at though. What exactly were people expecting? You get to play as an Avenger doing superhero stuff. Never played Division or Destiny but those names have been mentioned repeatedly on reviews. So far its been fun to play. Isnt that what video games are supposed to be?

Why does every avenger plays like Batman from the Arkhan games?

I played the beta for a few minutes, and it was a chore. An almost impossibly generic and unimaginative action game. It's crystal clear that this was never designed to be a fun game to begin with. It's just a lazy playground for young children to play dress up with their favorite movie characters.
