Nintendo has sold an eye-opening 10.41m copies of Super Mario Odyssey since the game's launch last October. Odyssey is now Nintendo Switch's best-selling game - well over half the console's entire userbase now owns a copy.

As of 31st March this year, Nintendo has sold 17.79m Switch consoles - an impressive figure for a console just one year old.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe now stands at 9.22m sales, Zelda: Breath of the Wild at 8.48m sales, and Splatoon 2 on 6.02m. These figures include bundled copies and downloads.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Switch has already outsold the lifetime sales of Mario Kart 8 on Wii U (8.42m copies). Nintendo Switch eclipsed Wii U's lifetime console sales earlier this year. (Now discontinued, Nintendo's previous machine sold 13.5m units.)

I know spelling isn't really emphasized on in school anymore, but they seem to have stopped teaching kids to count as well. Really goes to show that the peak of civilization was probably two decades ago. When there were only as many genders as there are... genders. When soap was for laundry. When it wasn't "chill" or "fire" to appear as if you have a full load in your pants. Y'know, when shame existed. Anyway, if the trend continues Odyssey will eventually pass Super Mario 64 as the best-selling 3D Super Mario platformer of all time. It needs to pass Super Mario Galaxy first to do so.

Actually Halo 2 outsold Sunshine and Halo 3 outsold Galaxy. Pretty sure 3D World sold like crap too since no one had a WiiU.
