Mario = New guitar hero?

Within one year we are going to see three mario releases on the Wii U. That is a level of milking that only guitar hero has received. Why is nintendo getting a free pass for this when activision gets crucified for releasing cod every year?

Well, Mario sells and Nintendo is desperate for sales...however, as much as Mario is being "milked" the quality of his games are still pretty good...specially 3D Worlds since is looking like one of the best games this year, so that's why i don't mind having that many Mario games, unlike Guitar Hero where they just put new songs and try to sell the game as "new" without offering any significant change.

The useless number/subtitle on the end is the biggest change in this entry. In the end, you're still racing around a bunch of boring, uninspired tracks a degenerate console gaming who couldn't play a real racing game because you don't own a PC.

Fact of the matter is that NSWBWU was a good, well received game that had downloadable content released in July. The downloadable content was so extensive that Nintendo provided a courtesy to gamers who hadn't purchased original game and offered it at retail for a very affordable price (especially given that they hadnt spent the original 60 on NSMBWU). Then you go on to act as if a.) the game and dlc was at all unsuccessful critically and b.) As if NSMBWU and Mario 3D World are in way shape and form similar apart from the inclusion of a titular character. One is a 3D platformer and one is 2D, drastically different gameplay elements and ACTUALLY released more than a year apart (contrary to your original post) So....yes, you are a troll.sHaDyCuBe321

Mario is a character used in a ridiculous amount of games.  That doesn't mean the games are similar.  Nintendo uses the character to sell the games they want to design.  The last 3D platformer was Galaxy 2 back in 2010.  We just got a new RPG and a new 2D game.  There'll be a Kart game and eventually party and sports.  But using a character to sell different games is different from releasing the same game again and again.

Kirby's Epic Yarn comes to mind as an example.  Brand new game idea and Nintendo attached one of their characters to it.  You won't see other publishers pull that off with their major brands.  But Nintendo does it with Mario and a few others from time to time.

Super Luigi was released as an expansion/DLC.

Super Mario 3D Land is completely different in design from New Super Mario Bros.  It's not Guitar Hero level milking if they aren't the same thing.
