Poll Mario Maker or LBP 3? Which will you enjoy more? (80 votes)

Mario Maker 65%
LBP 3 35%

It seems like people are making a big deal out of Mario Maker. Being able to make your own Mario level. Sounds fun, right? I guess.. but there's also another game called LBP 3 where you also can make your own levels and share with people. Which do you think you will enjoy more? I would go with LBP just because I would rather let Nintendo make the Mario games.

Well, the platforming in Mario isn't complete shit so it wins by default.

Mario Maker isn't complete yet, buuut so far it's showing a lot of flaws and missed potential. I'd say LBP3 will be a much better game but I'm sure Mario Maker will be like a 10-20$ game?

Mario games are always great and Little Big Planet sucks, so I'm certain that I will like Mario Maker a lot more.

I think Mario maker. I'm not really into 'create' games but Mario maker looks much more user friendly.

Yep. I'm sure LBP3 will be infinitely more fleshed out as a level creator/editor, but if the underlying gameplay sucks then who cares?

Mario Maker easily

All it took was it to have gameplay mechanics that were actually good.

Not a big fan of LBP, so definitely Mario Maker. I like how you can change between classic and new Mario stages.

I choose LBP3. A little more creativity goes a long way.

Wasn't a big fan of LBP.. but I'll try the next installment out. Having said that.. I'd have to say Mario Maker. But the problem is.. hasn't that sort of "Creator" been available on the PC for some time..

Yep and it's pretty in-depth too. I'm sure that Mario Maker will have the better interface, but the Mario level editor I used on PC seems way more fleshed out than what they've shown so far.

I didn't like the LBP 3 demo at Sony's conference, that bird character looks like it can easily break most of the levels.

If Mario Maker doesn't have online sharing on it though then I'm not getting that either.

One likely has excellent controls, the other is LBP 3... Guess what I pick as the likely better one.

Well, assuming LittleBigPlanet 3 controls more or less the same as the previous two games, I'll go with Mario Maker. At least I can enjoy the platforming in a Mario game.

Mario Maker hands down. We've all been waiting for something like this for ages. If they implement the online sharing correctly, this will be a hit no doubt about it. They've slated it as a 2015 game, so they've got plenty of time to make this game right.

The one that can do 1080p at 60fps of course. Any game that can't do either is worthless.

I once tried little big planet and couldn't play for more than 5 minutes. The gameplay is just terrible and so fucking boring. Don't even know how the first game scored 90+/100 on Metacritic. It blows my mind. Although the Mario Maker is looking like complete shit too.

LBP is a joke. I've never seen any game or developer absolutely refuse to accept the fact that there is a fundamental problem with the core gameplay of the game over so many sequels. This will be the 5th game and the core game mechanics are exactly the same as they were back in 08.

The jumping and platforming is slow and awful, and no amount of new characters, crafting tools or cute puppy socks is going to change the fact that it doesn't play well. Almost every other developer has done something when such a large majority of gamers dislike something about a game except MM when it comes to this. I'll never understand. I would really like to play these games as the concept is great but they keep ****ing it up every single game.

This was a new console and they had a chance to completely revamp this series but it just looks like they are reusing assets from the first two games. Which we don't need again.

Playing these games feels like playing a racer where you can't go any faster than 8 mph. And when people complain about it the games sense of speed the developers response is basically "uh, we don't NEED to copy Grand Turismo or forza.. we're gonna do our own thing"

LBP3 wins for me because the franchise is actually fun and you can do much in LBP its not even funny and dear god the games extremely fun and hilarious when playing with friends.

Mario kart is just like any other racing game they get boring after 2 minutes and are extremely shit repetitive.

Edit: woopsi i thought the title said mario kart lol.. this time around i cant comment since i've never tried Mario's maker and i couldnt care less about it to be honest.

I prefer my platformers to not be floaty, or pressing the jump button and landing almost two seconds later.

Well, no doubt Little Big Planet probably has more robust options where imagination is the limit, but I can't imagine all that many people are going to make much of what the tools have to offer, whereas I assume something like the Mario Maker is more user friendly to a lot more people.

Little Big Planet 3 is going to be a fully fleshed out game creator with a ton of great tools. Mario Maker looks pathetic as a game creator, with it's shining defense being that it's going to have the platforming mechanics of Super Mario Bros 1 and New Super Mario Bros(admittedly, that's pretty good).

Completely ignoring the fact that LBP3 can be more than just a series of user generated platformer levels, and Mario maker is nothing but community Mario levels. I have no desire to defend LBP's poor platforming mechanics, but LBP is what you expect from a modern editing tools game. Mario maker is looking like typical Nintendo completely missing the point.

Regardless both are dependent on the internet and the die hard community to help you weed through all the shit to find the good stuff. Not exactly ideal and consistent entertainment.

Creation: LBP

Platforming: Mario

Overall, I'd give it to LBP. It'll have a lot more content and much more variety in user-created levels.

Imo the simple approach of the mario maker creator will make the user generated levels more fun to play. With LBP it's like there are too many options.

Mario Maker interests me more because it looks simple and it's focused on letting people make awesome platforming levels. LBP and Project Spark allow people to do insane things, but I always end up thinking "Wow that's amazing that they managed to make a replica of Minecraft...but I have Minecraft."

@bbkkristian: Because so far you can't even created the first mario levels 1:1, there is no multiplayer (main appeal of this genre), and ffs it's mario maker, making a mario level just does not seem like an amazing experience imo...

Premature to say but,

Mario Maker will have better gameplay mechanics.
LBP3 will have a better map editor.

Regardless, Little Big Planet 3 looks better overall due to a better map editor.

Both games seem like they will be fun for like 2 hours, before being sold on Craigslist so I'll pass on them both.
