You probably knew this bit already, but Mario Kart 8 is looking like another polished racer from Nintendo. The game's visuals are beautiful, 1080p and 60fps even in two-player split-screen, while new characters and weapons such as the Piranha Plant keep things feeling fresh amongst otherwise familiar surroundings.

ha blue shell. That's the problem with Kart Racers, they are so boring they need pointless weapons to try and spruce some life into them.

Drive Club is for true gamers who appreciate the racing and can handle more interesting physics.

Pfft, DriveClub has far more social features than Mario Kart anyway, bringing up the playing with friends argument is pretty moot. Can join clubs on Drive Club, like clans but better.

You would have to play Driveclub for twice as long as Mario Kart 8 to get the same amount of frames. Therefore MK8 has the superior FPS:time spent ratio. It seems Nintendo just have more respect for my free time than Evolution do so Mario Kart it is.

In all seriousness, my post wasn't all that serious. Honestly, though, we kind of have to wait for all of these games to come out and see just how fully-featured Mario Kart is. It's going to sell millions of copies, and I think the online is going to be well-populated for years to come. Those games you mentioned are fun to play online, but they aren't unbeatable.
