mario Galaxy vs ratchet and clank :TOD

Super Mario Galaxy is the better platformer.

R&C: TOD was good too, but again, it felt a lot like the others. SMG made me feel like it was 1996 again.

For I like ToD a lot more. Its has WAY better graphics, even the ps2 ratchet games have better graphics than mario. It is also has more replay value and more unique gameplay. Mario is over rated and repitive. plod2

No just no. I have UYA, and SMG look way better in terms of graphics.

I haven't play TOD, but SMG look a lot better, especially if TOD is similar to the other R&C games.Wanderer5

It's very similar. The same basic formula as all the others.

this is no contest. SMG is polished game with real innovation all over it. R&C has a lot of garbage gameplay weighing down the fun parts where you get to fight things. I mean the Clank sections are just tired, the space shooter sequences are pointless, and then there are just WTF moments like the pirate dancing. (nobody here gets to pretend like the pirate dancing sections dont exist either! THat alone probably brought the score down .5 of a point)

SMG gameplay just has a lot more meat to it. Kind of weird that you can do a lot more things in R&C with your character like have lots of weird weapons and abilities, and yet smg you can do more things in the actual game

Better Gameplay - opinion (However, it's worth noting that SMG is 2nd on Game Rankings and GOTY on GS for it's gameplay, it's also my personal favorite game of the generation so far, there is a crystalised consensus concerning the gameplay amoungst critics, and it's clearly in SMG's favour)

Better artstyle - opinion (how could you ignore this aspect of the visuals?)

A soundtracks credentials aren't based on fidelity, as that's down to hardware, but it's the quality of the composition that determines a good or a bad soundtrack.... quality of composition is subjective, so sound = opinion. To clarify, Destinies Child's albums may sound better than a Mozart album free with the Daily Sun, does thyat make Destines Child's music inherently better? No.

Unlike GTA, SMG dosen't have at least one thread a day full of people calling it overrated, and a typical System Wars poster's word isn't gospel, although reviews aren't either, they hold more weight. I still acknowledged that it was opinion though, I just put it into context for a fitting perspective.

Now, shaders, pixels and resolutions don't determine visuals all of the time, artstyles have a hand in making a games look more distinctive and appealing, your outlook on visuals is very two dimensional. Here, look at these titles:

These games are both over a decade old, but the art$tyle still makes them visually appealing, no?

Innovation - Errrm..... yes really, the gravity mechanic in SMG is fresher and more innovative than anything in R&C.

Controllers - opinion, glad you agree with me. It dosen't matter if Sixaxis > Wii mote, it's how they're intergrated within the game. Go ahead and do a poll, but it'll be rather fruitless.
