In other words you'll be choosing between MP4 and LM3 when the time comes. I hope I am wrong but I expect this to be full priced for a while.

The magic 8 ball says YES to the question of picking it up. My only hope is that it isn't as simple as the prior two.

I'm definitely looking forward to playing this one.

One thing I've always loved about this series is the kind of interactivity you have with the environments. There's a lot of fun slapstick physical comedy in these games when Luigi can jangle pots and pans or throw a punching bag at a ghost's face.

I really enjoyed the 3DS version EXCEPT I was disappointed by the lack of variety in boss ghost encounters that made the first game's ghost hunt so fun and varied.

Luigi's Mansion 3 looks like it's bringing back greater variety in the ghost encounters and I'm happy for that.

I’m tempted to pick it up. I’ve played the previous two iterations (liked both of them), but I never beat them. If I do, I’ll go digital, just for the double gold coins deal the eshop has for it.

Nice. That’s pretty much what I was expecting. I never played the previous games but I am quite interested in jumping in with this one. There’s a number of games that I want to pick up in the next little while so I haven’t decided when exactly I’ll pick this up. It might be right away or I might wait until after I get some of the other games that I want first.

Passing for now, I'll get it later. I'm overwhelmed with games at the moment, and I'm picking up Atelier Ryza tomorrow.

Luigi's Mansion has come a long way. Even Victor Lucas, who didn't like the original LM very much, LOVES it.

I will get it when I have a chance. Too involved in Outer Worlds to care to get it right away, still working on Katamari Re-Roll too. But I will get to it eventually.

My first impressions: loving it.

Luigi's Mansion 3 might be one of the most thoroughly animated Nintendo games I've seen. Every little thing in the game appears to be packed with personality thanks to good animation. Down to the environments everything shakes and bobbles around when you interact, and Luigi (and the cast of the game) all have solid expressions thanks to the ways they're animated. Luigi's Mansion 3 might be the closest to a Saturday morning cartoon Nintendo has done yet.

It appears to be a direct sequel to the last game. Now I am not saying or expecting the story to be any more grand than the last game, but this one directly carries over from the last game, when King Boo is discovered to have escaped his fate from the last game, you know he is out for revenge based on the events to the previous game. Also it appears Luigi took Polterpup in for care after the last game - Luigi now official has a pet [ghost] dog?

Lastly, there is meta humor in this game. Nintendo is a good sport when it comes to their own failures, which I don't generally see other companies doing that whenever they have a failed product (failed products tend to get brushed under the rug); but in Luigi's Mansion 3, Professor E. Gadd has a bright new invention.... The VIRTUAL BOY. E. Gadd swears his new invention will be immensely successful, but we all know how the Virtual Boy turned out...Yes you use a Virtual Boy in the game and E. Gadd swears it will be a successful product he invented. A little dose of meta humor there and self-awareness. I like it.

Anyways that's my impression so far. I'm afraid I'm destined to like this game even more as I progress, but that shall happen later tonight when I get off work.

Yeah agree... it's impossible to not be taken in by the charm of this game.

I love the setting, and it's a blast to explore. Can't wait to play more today!

At some point. It's a likable series but not something that blows my mind. Still, I appreciate the green man getting his own fun little sub series and it IS something a bit different and unique, which is what I always ask for from Nintendo, so I should support it :P

How is Luigi's 86 higher than Spidey's 87? Do you even read/understand your OWN posts, never mind anyone else's? :D

Heck yeah! If you're in any way a Ghostbusters fan then this is worth a try, similar to how you should give Starlink a shot if you like the Starfox series.

Plus it's always nice to see Luigi get a bit of the spotlight away from his tryhard brother.

LM3 is indeed reminiscent of Ghostbusters just not the one you might think. Playing it gives me certain vibes of the 1990 Genesis game coupled with a family spin on The Shining.

I played it for a few hours last night - it's really good.

There's something inherently fun about using a powerful vacuum cleaner to utterly destroy rooms full of fine china, food, and luggage.

Also, everything about this just feels like a top-notch production. Luigi's reaction animations are great, the music is great, the look of the environments are fantastic. I like that the bosses have tons of personality as well.

Yeah... the more I play it (I'm probably about a third of the way through), the more I love it. It really is a top-notch production.

If I were Nintendo, I'd think about buying that studio (I think they're a Canadian studio). They're talented.

The slapstick humor is so on-point in this game.

I was in the area of the game where you're basically shoplifting in the shopping floor (lol), and I broke into the jewelry store full of glass cases with items in them. When I started battling the ghosts in that area I took one by the tail with and threw it right into the glass cases prompting them to shatter and explode everywhere. That was definitely a LOL moment for me.

On that note, Professor E. Gadd has been an established character for a couple decades now and this game has him at his best. I'm starting to wonder why no one ever suggests him being a fighter in Smash Bros. because he would make an interesting fighter.

Hell, give Smash King Boo as a fighter. King Boo is pretty much Luigi's nemesis at this point the way Bowser is to Mario.

I just completed the floor with the movie director ghost. That appears to be a little over halfway through the game.

I must say, going into Luigi's Mansion 3 I was anticipating to at least enjoy the game and call it a day, but my god....

Luigi's Mansion 3 is FAR EXCEEDING my expectations. Literally this game is so intoxicating in all its entertainment values and charm, it's really hard to find even a dull moment. Literally every corner and every floor is JAM PACKED with details and interactive elements, exploration is a joy ride in this game. The attention-to-detail is a whole new level for a Nintendo game.

I can't stress enough, if you enjoyed the first Luigi's Mansion game or enjoyed the 3DS game - Luigi's Mansion 3 blows both games completely out of water in terms of everything. For me to say this game blows the first Luigi's Mansion out of water is also saying something considering how special that game was to me back in the day.

Luigi's Mansion 3 is like what Portal 2 was to Portal 1. Portal 1 was a prototype kind of game and so was Luigi's Mansion 1 - and Luigi's Mansion 3 significantly expands and enhances the vision of the original game in just about every way. It's the sequel Luigi's Mansion 2 should have been, but fortunately we have that sequel now in the form of the third entry in the series.

They dialed the humor and animation qualities up to 11 in this game and the music and sound design is top-notch.

For those of you that are unsure or waiting on this game: don't sleep on it. Luigi's Mansion 3 is truly something special you will not regret playing.

For those that are also currently playing the game - amirite or what? At this rate, this is a strong GOTY contender for me.

This game is a genuine and surprising treat I don't think any of us were even expecting.
