Okay, we know Halo is a huge event, it's a huge game, it's pretty much guaranteed like a 9.5 here (10 if it had chainsaws), and it's good for the whole gaming industry for a weird sci-fi shooter to become a household name.

All that said...

Don't you think Mountain Dew Gamer Fuel is the most hilarious product tie-in of all time? "Get the fuel to finish the fight"? :lol:

I guess it's the name as much as anything. If they just put MC on the front of a Mountain Dew bottle, it would be business as usual. I think calling it Gamer Fuel and pushing it to be consumed while you play Halo is just hysterical.

My advice: drink Gatorade, it's a lot more healthy and it probably tastes better.

The strategy is sound, I just think the whole "Gamer Fuel" is funny, like us gamers are finally emerging as a market they can exploit. I'm not saying their business practices are flawed, I'm just saying the actual product and the way it's packaged and promoted are hilarious.
