I don't like any of them. But I got farther (Thanks to Redbox) with AC3, only because I was somewhat interested in the subject matter. I think it is the most overrated series this generation after Uncharted.
To be fair Uncharted 2 is a great game. The others....not so much.
The only reason I voted AC3 was because its gameplay was not as clunky. It fixed all the rough gameplay. And action moments were good, and did not fall flat. While in previous AC games, action moments were awkward and fell flat.
from best to worse II Brotherhood III Revelations I I had a lot of fun with the first game, but it just doesn't hold up compared to the rest. Revelations was also good, but it introduced things that were either pointless or lame. III would have been higher, but it got a lot of things wrong and was bugged. It being a new era and character plus some awesome stuff like naval battles puts it over Revelations for me. Brotherhood? Perfected the combat and added a lot of great things like assassin trainees and MP. II... was just amazing the first time I played it through. If ONLY III had the same wow factor on its first run. And this game was such a step up from the first game that was pretty much a sleeper hit for me. Also really liked Ezio as a character and this game had some good development for him. Connor and Altair pale in comparison.

definitely Assassin's Creed II, it was the most "inspired" Assassin's Creed game. The other ones felt forced and quite dull. Don't even get me started on AC III, I can make a 5 paragraph long essay about why that game is pure ****. SMH.
f*cking Brotherhood is gold All AC2 had the origin story (thus being fresh and more memorable) and somewhat better cities. Brotherhood was better in everything else.

Either 1 or 2. Â Originals always possess a certain amount of freshness you can't replicate in sequels. Â But the ending to 2 was when the series took a drastic turn for the worse.

didnt like the story in #2 more of the same But all of the gameplay quality was still there eh, maybe cause i played it soon after i played #2 and i got burnt out with asscreed games. I dunno, i just was sick of that setting by the middle of brohood. On their own, brohood is probably the better game, but i just didnt enjoy it as much as 2
All of them are absolutely awful. Shallow combat, braindead enemy AI, insanely repetitive mission structure, auto-platforming, screen tearing all over the place (on consoles), ridiculously stupid story, and flash-over-substance at every turn. The very epitome of what is wrong with video games today. (Well, I shouldn't say "all" because I haven't played III or Liberations but I did play I, II, Revelations, Brotherhood, Altair's Chronicles, Bloodlines, and Discovery. I hated them all but kept renting them on friends' recommendations, but I finally learned my lesson)
See? This is a realistic and accurate list. AC3s story was mostly not as good except for some pretty cool twists and turns (and, the final showdown between Connor and Lee. The chase was bad, yes, but, at least it did not feel like a cheap, *jump from ledge, guys dead, games over* kind of thing. It felt more drawn out and personal. That last moment between them was emotionally rousing, and i enjoyed it a lot.) But, gameplay wise, it was the best in the series. All the rough gameplay was gone, which i appreciated.

No, 3 is easily the worst game in the series. Awful story, bad mission design, the frontier is too big and filled with a whole lot of nothing, it has too many systems that aren't explained well and the cities are boring and not fun to explore. The game just felt lazy and rushed, definitely one of the most disappointing game from last year for me.
I'm sorry but they were all pretty bad. I like parts of the games. The climbing, the setting, the hidden in plain sight assassin stuff. It's a shame, there are more parts to these games that I dislike. The combat, the repetitive nature of AC1 and 2. The story especially the future stuff and all the names they throw at you. It is not that they did a bad job I think... Rather there are differences between what the devs think is good (enough) and what I think is good.
To me Brotherhood is the best. It cleaned up the gameplay from 2 a bit and added good side stuff like Borgia towers, Animus training, improved assassination side missions and faction quests. However the gameplay in all AC games is just too weak and they have never really made an effort to push it to the next level. Instead they just keep adding more and more mediocre content. AC3 also has a very restricted mission design which sucked the joy out of playing. Game design wise it's a mediocre franchise that sadly is going downhill :(.
