I give it credit for nothing.

Who cares? This is like when Android fanboys tout "customization" and "open source" as an important feature.
important feature
Yes.
Customization is important.
I'm more than happy with the options available on my 5C. The Android users who obsess over their icons not being the right size or shape are weird.
You've been playing too much doto.
Wallpaper? Credit for all these trivial things? I don't think so Tim.
Its a a gaming device, not a fucking desktop screen. For that I can't.
I agree but P4 golden is the only reason i got mine.
Some nice screens:
That reminds me i need to replay P4 golden one day.
@trugs26: The Wii U and 3DS grid is just that, it's a grid. On the other hand, here's what the Vita grid looks like:
With the great thing being that any spot on this 'grid' is fair game, meaning you can make irregular, non linear shapes, like I have in the OP.
Anyway, the point is not that any one of these customization features standout- a non linear grid, or wallpapers, or individual wallpapers, or custom lock screens, or folders, are by themselves hardly anything to write home about. But put together, they all contribute to make the Vita the most flexible and full featured system that there is on the market when it comes to customization. Even more impressively, they also make it more customizable than iOS and Android, which still stick to a linear grid, and do not offer separate wallpapers for individual screens, I believe (I might be wrong on Android offering this in its latest incarnation, in which case, feel free to correct me).
I'm sorry but that still doesn't look customisable. It's just an offset grid. It's the same on the Wii U/ 3DS except every second row is offset by 1/2 an icon. You can place it anywhere, sure, but you can also place a tile anywhere on the regular grid on the Wii U/3DS. The only difference is in place of "non-icons" for Nintendo is a blank icon, and in place of "non-icons" on the Vita is the wallpaper. This is a nice aesthetic, but it's not "customisable". I'd call this "customisable" if it were floating point.
@Slashkice: Nice backgrounds!
I had two questions:
a) What do you use Bluetooth for on the Vita? I generally keep it off on mine...
b) Who's the girl in your first three pics? She's also the one in your avy if I'm not mistaken
@charizard1605:
I've been meaning to ask you, do you think the Vita is really worth getting? I've been considering it.
Obviously, you seem happy with it; but the lack of support has me worried that I'd buy it, play it for a few hours, and then never touch it again.
Most of the time on my PC, I have a bunch of programs open and can't see the desktop, making what's on it completely useless.
@Sword-Demon: It... depends, honestly. I got mine for an extremely cheap price, which is why I haven't actually been all that disappointed with it, but it will really depend on what your expectations will be for it. Do you like indie games, and do you place a high value on playing them portably? Or do you like JRPGs (not a whole lot of them, but some exceptionally high quality ones), and will you be happy with a small quantity but very high quality? In both those cases, I say yes, go for it. Personally, I say the entire system is worth it just for Persona 4 Golden alone, but I realize spending $230 on one game might be overkill for some =p
@Slashkice: Oh. Doesn't that eat up the battery lol?
And thanks! I checked out her page, some of her stuff seems very cool.
Yup, Vita has fantastic customization options. I need to spend more time on mine someday (likely the holidays when I get my new card). Right now I just have each page a different color and this as my lockscreen:
And FWIW, I turn my Bluetooth on to use my BT headset and that's about it. I use a wired set more often, but sometimes I just like to sit the vita on my gut while laying down and playing, and the jack in the bottom makes that awkward.
@charizard1605: Yeah... I guess it would be pretty stupid and impulsive for me to get one...
BAM!
Decided to go ahead and get one. Also decided to try my hand at designing my own wallpaper for it, inspired by Fullmetal Alchemist.
Not totally finished, but I guess it could be worse considering that this is my first time designing anything and I was learning to use the image editor on the fly.. I wish the bubbles wouldn't float around though.
I guess I'll have to go and make a lockscreen and another wallpaper for the other page, and any subsequent pages.
Not sure what you're getting at with the icons? E.g in the Wii U/3DS menu you can place the game tile where ever as well. Is that what it's doing? Are the bubbles floating where ever? Or is there a offset grid as well? From your images, it still looks like a pre-set grid rather than floating point.
Pretty cool that it has wall papers though. Although I wouldn't give it the title of "highly customisable" if you're just placing tiles and wallpapers. That's just a couple of nifty details.
Kind of like what you can do with android you can drag icons around and change each slide to something you want. It's like a phone. 3DS is very plain and doesn't give you a home like feeling. The multitasking is also better on the vita.
@Sword-Demon: Awww, hell yisss. Welcome to the VitaBros. What are your impressions so far? I see you have Persona 4 Golden and Rogue Legacy, that's like half the good games on the system :p Did you start any of the games?
And yeah, the floating bubbles ruin everything haha.
@charizard1605: I put a little over 15 hours into P4G, rescuing the movie star girl. I'm completely sucked into it :P

Haha dude, it happens :p The only bad thing is, after this, you'll want more, and there simply isn't more lol.
@charizard1605: Well Persona 5 is coming next year for PS3, right?
You'd think so, but with the game being less than four months away from release in Japan, we still haven't ever seen it. Like, ever.
Looks miles better than the PSP's customization options and setup ever did.
Damn. I really, really wish the Vita used normal memory card storage. I'd be really tempted to making the plunge if they did (as basically a replacement PSP/PS1/select Vita titles machine).
yeah, the best thing about the PS3's UI was how great it was to customize it and the 3D animated background where amazing.

Right. That's just aesthetically pleasing. Functionally though, it's the same, which is what comes under "customisation". So it's not highly customisable, just nicer to look at.
Who cares? This is like when Android fanboys tout "customization" and "open source" as an important feature. People who fiddle around with their phones changing every little constantly instead of actually using it must have some form of OCD.
Terrible comparison. I suppose you own an Iphone?
Customization is Android's biggest strength for the average consumer.
