Lets be honest...

As an non-X1 owner the X1's 2016 lineup looks damn solid and makes the X1 look appealing as a console.

Seriously any non Xbox One owner including myself has to admit it; Quantum Break, Scalebound, Gears 4, Recore, Sea of Thieves, Crackdown, Halo Wars 2. 7 games total(if we include Sea of Thieves and Halo Wars 2 which are also on PC, but not PS4) . All potentially AAA. All mostly exclusives. Most importantly a variety.

I mean come on... No fanboyism, but the X1 is looking very appealing as a console. Which is why I want one to sit next to my PS4. How the heck can I miss out of those games? Plus the X1 games coming this fall? And on top of also having the PS4 exclusives like freaking Uncharted 4, Horizan and Lost Guardians??? Best of both worlds!

So as a non-X1 owner does the 2016 X1 lineup make the X1 look appealing? Because it does to me. This is why I love competition.

It's basically the usual glutton of Halo/Gears/Forza.

If you're a big fan of those franchises, then the lineup probably looks amazing to you.

If you're not a fan, then there isn't much appeal.

Scalebound is the only XBone exclusive that really interests me.

The only game I want from it is Scalebound so not to me admittedly.

I think the upcoming library on both consoles are looking very nice. 2016 will be a great year for gamers.

But we're not seeing this with this 2016 lineup... Its Gears and new IPs... Which I am loving. Which I've been asking MS to do since 2009! The only Halo game is Halo Wars 2 which isn't a "traditional" Halo game, but a RTS.

Yeah,,, stuff is looking good. Glad that Phil Spencer understands that Consoles need variety and he said that they are going to focus more on other genres as well apart from third person shooter. Bringing some of the adventure games from PC and Cities: Skylines on Xbox One was a smart move. I've played those games on PC and they are great. More money for good devs = a good thing (way better than shitty rehashes).

@blessedbyhorus: Yup. They are really working hard over there imo. Next year I'm really going to struggle in budgeting game purchases as I don't see myself having the time or money to buy all that X1 and PS4 and multiplats offer.

I agree. I bit the bullet and picked up an Xbone yesterday. $350 for a bundle including 1 year of Xbox Live, MCC, and Assassin's Creed Unity (meh, but whatever). I only had access to a roommate's 360 for the first couple of years of last gen, so I'm excited about the backwards compatibility to play what I missed. Plus Scalebound looks pretty good.

Yeah it is. I took 2 summer months to relax and game before beginning stationary engineering studies in September and still don't get to game all that much due to family responsibilities. I'll be going full tilt for 15 months soon and all these great looking titles are coming. When PS5 and X2 come out I'll probably be playing 2016 games on "last gen" systems LOL

If you're a die hard fan of those games, then great.

But if you're not, then there isn't much sense in going with an XB as your preferred console.

That doesn't change the Fact that 5 out of the 7 games he mentioned where neither of those three, Hence most of the games he mention where neither of those 3 only 2 of them where which with maths means the Majority of the games he mentioned where not hose 3 does it not?

But again.... Halo Wars is NOT a traditional Halo game, but a RTS... How are they doing the same Halo, Gears and Forza? Another Forza game has not even been announced or confirmed for next year. The only game out of the three for next year is Gears.

Just like we should be honest on PS4's greatness that has led to it being current gen 8 console leader.

Sony used to milk the hell out of Gran Turismo also but at least they've started to wait 3-5 years in between releases over the last decade.

Nintendo milks Mario Kart in addition to their other flagship IP's but at least they remain innovative and genuinely fun.

Scalebound does look interesting, but other than that it's the same Xbox schtick. If their library grows more and their games are solid gold, I'll definitely consider it as a second console. Right now, I can't justify dropping the cash.

Now why would I deny that obvious fact? :P

gran turismo is milked loads more than forza, they've carried around them 800 ps2 cars for 15 years, and forza's cycles between horizon and motorsport every 2 years.. how is that milked?

Just like EA cycled NFS Shift and Criterion NFS?

In 3 years Forza is gonna be bland and named the COD of racers , which NFS holds that title for now.

Unfortunately fanboys of opposing factions will always choose to miss out on great experiences to prove a meaningless point only to themselves...

Never been into Xbox, but they have also been impressing me lately.

Sea of Thieves looks promising.

i hardly think 2 main releases per gen counts as milking...unless you count the demo that they somehow charge for...

Xbox doesn't have anything that appeals to me.

My X1 is going to get a lot of playtime.

Scalebound looks like a good game, the rest looks like franchises I got tired of on the 360.

It will be a miracle if that shows up in 2016. It's very early in development. Also, Rare hasn't made a legit console game in many years since they were a Kinect house under Mattrick.

Out of the Xbone exclusive lineup only Quantum break interested me. Scalebound had my attention before the gameplay reveal. What a... meh exibition. Was expecting way better out of Kamyia. The protagonist sounded EXACTLY like the new Dante (wich is kinda ironic) and the gameplay looked pretty uninventive. Not a Bayonetta followup, thats for sure. I dont even think it is an Hack'n'Slash game wich is disappointing. Pretty visuals though

again, only QB looked wonderful but even so, not enough for me to buy a xbox

Watched the E3 trailer again. Still looks like a F2P game. I don't get the hype. Well, of course I get it. It gets hyped because it's exclusive. If it was multiplat nobody would give a shit because like I said: looks like a F2P game. What is it even supposed to be? MMO?

Just give me Quantum Break, Gears and probably Scalebound.

@nethernova: I agree, Sea of Thieves looks like a f2p game. I don't judge games on that though. I've had some fun with free 2 play games. Sea of Thieves looks interesting because of the pirate theme and the possibility of doing team battles with other boats could be really cool. I don't know enough about it to say anymore than I'm intrigued by it at this point in time though.

I feel a lot of these games will come to pc in some form or another. Microsoft has been trying to fade out the xbox console brand for a bit now and instead turn it into a marketplace for windows pc's.

yeah 2016 looks like the year of the xbox again. I was kinda hoping it would be the year of the PS4. I've been playing the hell out of my xbox since launch but barely touched the PS4. Right now the only game I'm buying for PS4 that we know of is horizons but I'm getting like at least 6-7 games for the X1 in the next year. maybe 2017 sony will start putting out some games?

I would say that's an impressive lineup of exclusives for 2016. Although some might get delayed until 2017, it still looking like a good year for the Xbox next year as well.

Its ok, the rest of you naysayers will buy an Xbox One once the cloud tech is implemented in all 1st party games and not just Crackdown 3. Salute the topic creator for being a realist.

I see nothing special personally. Scalebound, QB and Gears 4 looks great but that's it. I'm more excited about PS4's lineup.

Really glad I passed on a PS4 last year and got the Xbone instead.
