Largest shipment yet for PS4's at Walmart this weekend

Walmart confirms:

"Walmart continues to spread the cheer to customers with its largest shipment yet of the new PlayStation 4 consoles, arriving at stores across the country starting at 8 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 15. Customers can also visit Walmart.com for PS4 consoles while supplies last."

Cant seem to find any PS4's in Canada so here's hoping this applies to Canada's Walmart too

Target is also getting PS4's this Sunday so its safe to say that all major retailers will be getting a shipment of PS4s this 15th.

@Dreams-Visions: probably. My friend got a PS4 last weekend from Best buy and they were still giving out tickets just so you can stand in line. He was 34th in the line (they stopped at 50).

Why are people so in a hurry to buy a console with no games?

People will always find their reasons.

- The 360/PS4 launched like 7/8 years ago; it feels like a lifetime ago.

- People like newer things

- People rather invest in the future now

- The games will come. I don't why anybody needs a billion games or even exclusives to purchase a console that's supposed to last years. Not to mention there are plenty of games. BF4, AC4, COD, NFS, KZ, Resogun, NBA, FIFA, Madden, Indies etc.

Yeah, I honestly don't understand buying a console right at launch.

Yes, there is an excitement from being the first few people on the planet to own the newest piece of tech, but they almost all have technical issues at launch that affect the early models.

I just find it much safer to wait at least 6 months before buying one, which I plan on doing with PS4 and Xbone. Also, the games that I'm really interested in will be closer to release then.

I'll pass on this one. It's tempting, but I like to see how the PS4 library matures.

maybe its because i'm in canada but i seen a few stores that have them in stock even when I check online it still says in stock for some in my area

Just because WalMart is the biggest retailer doesn't mean they should have the most. Actually Best Buy has a deal with both MS and Sony to get more consoles in their stores than any other retailers.

You do realize the games will come right? did you see how PS3 was able to dominate the 360 in terms of games and exclusives which is s system that was called nogameststaion when it came out?

also as someone mentioned earlier a lot of people are hyped and want to invest into next gen now without waiting for too long.

a 3rd point is that PS4 HAS games! what other generation did we see CoD or BF come out at launch? this is the very first consoles launch ever that is filled with big franchises like this and a lot of people including myself want a ps4 just to play these games and experience them with the new hardware and the exclusives will come and when they do they will destroy the competition once again.

You can say that again, it feels like everything gets sold out pretty quickly in Canada its crazy heck even the LE toys that EBgames discounted at black friday were gone in a matter of seconds i mean wtf? they had the Black Ops 2 care package for $10 i even saw it the moment it was posted and it was all gone in few seconds :/

No offence but I'd never camp out for a console, not in a million years. I understand waking up really early and being the first person at the store, but camping? I mean really?

Games will come yes but you will be sitting there playing nothing for months it took ps3 about 2 or 3 years to become a decent system. cod and bf4 are last gen ports lol dont need to buy a ps4 for those.

@osirisx3: the point is investing. Who buys a console at launch just because of launch games? I'm sure they will use that console for many more games to come.

Great points. I'd also add that due to the PS4 having such a great price to begin with that we're not likely to see a price cut for ateleast 1.5-2 years from launch. Unless you're going to wait that long (nohting wrong wiht that) then you may as well pick one up regardless if it's now or in six months. You're not saving any money.
