Labo bombed worldwide. Is Nintendo doomed?

GT5 Prologue had over a hundred cars and was $40 at launch. ? You clowns are paying $80 for Nintendo branded cardboard and tech demos that are over in a few minutes.

Anyone who thinks Nintendo is doomed because of Labo is delusional. It didn't take off and become Wii Sports or Brain Age like they wanted it to, but Nintendo is still going strong. Who knows, once more Switches go out and the younger generation comes out because of Pokemon, Labo might ship more units. Brain Age started off slow (only 40,000 copies starting off) and now it's 4th best selling DS title.

i can admit it was a huge flop. the ariana grande performance was amazing though :P 1 good thing labo did.

but this is good news for switch fans. now nintendo will go back to core games.

Labo was a Gimmick from the start and I knew it wasn't gonna be the next big thing and Nintendo Switch was always meant to stand on it's own anyways.

I'm just impress everyone assume otherwise.

I agree. Like they thought one dud is going to kill the Switch momentum? LMAO! EVERY successful console has a few flops and duds. A dud only kills your momentum if you bet everything on it. Other than that, it's mostly: embarrassment, a few jokes/memes, and a bruised ego.

Rehash of old games? What exactly does the PS4 and Xbox One have? Well, according to system wars Xbox One has no games.

Mario Tennis Aces, Octopath Traveler, No More Heroes, SNK Heroines, Super Smash Bros.

Nah, it takes a single trailer or announcement of a new Mario, Zelda, Smash or Kart for Switch to get hyped.

What Nintendo needs to win is the sustain bet. Said that since day 1. They need to prove me wrong and everyone else by not let Switch go into life support way earlier than they should by providing exclusives every year till the very end. It seems that when hype and momentum settles Nintendo pulling the plug.

Thats the only way for Switch to lose momentum imho since now its appealing to 2 big audiences now. The console fans and handheld fans at the same time. Its very difficult to fail because of a single game or two that might end up underwhelming.

I feel sorry for any fool who dumb enough to spend $430.000 for Labo if the Labo ever came to that price and in my opinion $80 dollars is still to much for Labo

Nintendo won't ever be doomed the switch is doing great numbers worldwide. I find it hilarious they still throw out gimmicks and hoping something sticks. Labo was always going to fail.

4th on NPD. So it lost to 3 games? I don't think it's selling that poorly now. In Japan it had a slow start, but in the west it seems very popular?

Switch is incredible. I hope Nintendo sticks with the hybrid design from here out. I'll always be a customer.

Hobbyist stuff like Labo is a slow burn kind of product so I wouldn't worry about it.

@quadknight: I think if anything caused the "Failure" so to speak. It would be the fact that most parents just want to slap a cartridge in and let the kids play their games. Sadly, most people don't want to sit and actually build something that takes some brain power and thought process. We're becoming dumbed down.

I don't think anyone asked for Labo. All they need to do is announce and release new games.

Labo was never meant to sell large quantity. It is a niche product meant to make a quick buck, and let's be real. This thing's profit margins are through the roof.

@GunSmith1_basic: yes it was. My local tesco had a dedicated area to it. This is for a company they dont usually bother with much at all. It had a huge marketing oresence. They dont release things that arent expected to sell. They put things out there hoping they will. Damage control changes nowt.
