Konami announces remaster of Zone of the Enders 2, coming to PS4 with full PSVR support.

I know, I know, Konami is not exactly a loved company these days. But this does sound amazing. ZotE 2, produced by Hideo Kojima, is, as most of us probably know, a mech classic from the PS2 era. This remaster will feature full support for PSVR, from, it appears, an inside-the-cockpit perspective. The game can also be played traditionally on a flat screen with a 3rd person point of view. This is another big win for the PSVR community. Hyped! The brief debut trailer shows a mix of both traditional and VR perspectives:

Well I am interested in playing the remake in the traditional third person perspective on a regular tv but not at all interested in playing it in VR.

@drlostrib: My guess is it will be exclusive to Sony for a good while. It's a great game to prop up the PSVR. That being said, it would be great for the other PC VR headsets, too. But just the flat screen version is also well worth it.

Tempting, but I got too many games I want coming out, might be able to get it for $250 by the time I'm ready. I have been eyeing VR now a bit because of Ace Combat. And now this looks pretty cool as well, love ZOE2 and wouldn't mind playing it again in a different way.

Zone of the enders is nothing without the previous konami, but this is great.

Agreed. It's way better that they go this route instead of making a new game altogether. Giving classics the VR treatment is a great use of the tech, especially considering that older games are less taxing graphically and otherwise.

Sony fan- The Xbox backwards compatibility is a waste of time since Sony allows us to buy last gen games again.

No wonder Sony fans are called cows cause they get milked again and again and the worst part they defend Sony for doing it to them.

Side note- Seriously this is just getting beyond sad now. You get charged to play the same game again and thank Sony for it and worse you bash Microsoft for backwards compatibility where Xbox fans play games they own free. Even when they do rebuy them it is cheaper then a Sony remaster. You drink the milk to the very last drop and thank Sony for it.

This is pretty cool, one of those games that kind of naturally fits into a VR control scheme and the game is fucking great!

They are being charged over and over for the same product. That is literally what being milked is. Ok they are taking a old semi popular even if not a big seller game and making it VR. I do not think you understand what milked is. Are you expecting AAA status development with this or do you think they are banking on people buying it because of the name? If you think they are actually going full force making a AAA game then your insane, but if you think they are making a quick game with VR with a semi popular title then you do not understand what milking it since THEY ARE milking.

So seriously if you do not think this is milking then do you think they are going full force AAA status with this game or do you think it is a quick buck since Sony fans are a bunch of suckers that like to be milked?

It's also coming to PC. I dunno if this will have native VR support for PC though.

you do realize at least Microsoft gives options right and Sony only has milking as an option right? Xbox One will allow 3 generations of games to be played on it through backwards compatibility and Sony allows games to be bought again. Every single system of Xbox will have games playable through backwards compatibility on Xbox One but Sony loves that their fans defend buying games over and over and over again.

OT: This is probably the one game I feel needed a VR remake. Thank goodness my VR prayers were answered, I will be getting this on day zero.

That's a good decission. It was one of the best games on the PS2 and the gameplay was superb.

It looks really fun. I never played this game before!

Hope VR is optional, I'd settle with the original game remastered just fine.

Lol Microsoft sold you guys a Kinect ready machine at $500 that was actually weaker than the cheaper option from the competition, then took away Kinect and cancelled most of the interesting exclusives it had and now, 4 years later, they're selling you the same exclusive-less machine again for $500 with a bit more power and you dare to talk about milkage. You lemmings are getting ripped off $1000+ by MS so easily while they're probably laughing their asses off as we speak and you fools fall gladly for it. It is almost as bad as with the 360 where they used programmed obsolescence by making complete shit hardware and sell it twice+ to their fanboys. Anyway, I remember playing this demo on the Jampack Summer 2001 disc.

That disc was my 1st PS2 software. title.

Interesting, maybe Konami has a little magic left after all.
