Is it just me or does Kirby Epic Yarn highly resemble Little big planet? I'm not trying to show PS3 fanboyism or anything like that, but the first thing I thought when I saw Kirby Epic yarn was that it looked a lot like LPB. Anyone else agree?

LBP is a level creator mixed with platforming and now other genres. Kirby is purely a platforming game.

Yeah, especially with the curtains it used in parts of it. It had killed my hopes for them to announce Paper Mario in it. Good thing I figured out later!

Yeah it did look a lot like LBP with the art style it had going. I was thinking the same thing when i 1st saw the trailer.

I just realized. There's probably no Meta-Knight or King Dedede in this game. One of my favorite parts of the Kirby series was that as you played through the game, you'd often begin to realize that these so called 'villains' were working for the greater good, and Kirby was, more often than not, a loose cannon who never understood the true gravity of the situation. Ultimately, Kirby was always the most powerful of the three, and does save the day in the end, but only once he's been aimed by either Meta-Knight or Dedede.

I cam agree I though of Yoshi Story. Only because of the cute factor and music. Past that it's really like any other game I have played.

nah im pretty sure that kirby will have the better made developer gameplay. where as lbp didn't have very good developer made gameplay most of all worthwhile gameplay was made by users after its release.

I saw it too, it was actually the first thing that came to mind. It was just because of the good looking cloth/stitches. I'm talking (OBVIOUSLY) just art style here. I think some people seem so standoffish because they think you're threatening their precious franchise or something. Then again, maybe people really can't make that connection (especially if they haven't played LBP).. But i'm with the minority here. KEY first impressions: "Wow, that looks loosely similar in art style to LBP..."

it has a great art style but from a gameplay point of view it isn't all that different. LBP was a platform for creating platformers

I had Yoshi's Island flashbacks, but if you wanna consider the yarn world and style of Kirby's Epic Yarn and LBP to be similar, go ahead. I can't wait to play with the little guy again... :D ... don't take that the wrong way :|

besides the fact that they're both 'side-scrollers' at its core, nah they're not similar at all. Also lbp is quickly diverging from just being a side scroller too.
