At first i was gonna ask if we're still in 2009 where 1000 copy pasted soldiers on screen is supposed to be impressive, but then i saw a truck🤣Pretty good idea for a game, and i can guarantee it doing super well because all the big streamers will play it, and they will market the f*ck outta this game for them.

Aww there was another game kinda like this ages ago and I can't remember it. Not the setting...that's a new one. But you could command individual units as well as command the army in an RTS.

....It could be thinking of Dungeon Keeper but i'm not sure it's that (though you can command individual units in dungeon keeper).

Anywho looks very silly but could be good fun also.

Could be you're thinking of Rise & fall, civilisations at war. But there were other games like it: C&C Renegade, Savage, ...

That's not how this works. A big budget piece of shit will never go anywhere if you pay em to stream the game or not, but small titles, the ones that wouldn't be anywhere near as popular and profitable (fall guys, rust, among us, lethal company, dark and darker, etc, etc) end up selling millions because of streamers/influencers. Where do you think Palworld got a massive boost of popularity from? Its certainly not its 5/10 gameplay that helped, but all the influencers playing it.

One of my favorite "OMFG I'm so bored" mental exercises is to hypothetically dream up time travel combat scenarios. Like in WH40K, they say that if a squad of Space Marines came to present-day earth, they could literally take it over in a few weeks. Like...all 7+ billion people, all the armies and governments...just gone.

So I sometimes ask myself "Hey, if I went back to the Civil War with three M1A1 Abrams tanks from the modern era...could I have ended the Civil War in a few days?

Good advice. At first I was like "generic RTS/city-builder" but then the truck showed up HAHAHA so hapy I waited.

Looks fun. The world needs more action-strategy games like this (and Battlezone 1/2, and C&C Renegade) so I hope that's a major point in this game. I'll settle for commanding troops though even if there's no building.

You're right about the "little streamers" though. Games like Enshrouded, Palworld, Valheim, etc. selling like gangbusters from grassroots publicity.

I've played my fair share of Fortnite with my kids too by the way. Forgive my oversight. Either way, the game looks intriguing and is something I hadn't seen yet, and it's hard to get a game past me.

Seems like it will be a fun gimmick game like Rock of Ages or Goat Sim. I won't expect much more than that until proven otherwise, and that's not to say that's a bad thing. Sometimes silly meme games can be really enjoyable to kill a weekend or two.
