I never relised just how close it actually was

Wow, just wow. KZ looks amazing. It does quite match it. But if you're not impressed by that, what will?
Killzone isn't the first game to not reach the target render devs set out to. And remember, this is still pre-alpha :o.
Tis vewy pwetty
Let us all hope it doesnt flop like the original
After all even the greatest graphics can be let down by poor gameplay

Yeah, but can you name a game with such high production values and bad gameplay (the entire team isn't working on the visuals). Especially from a 1st party developer.

There's no way they spent 21 Million just to Match their Trailer last year
The game is know were near the CGi trailer. The actual ingame footage has been downgraded on ever level from effects like smoke, fire and explosions to the amount of characters on screen. The game looks great but it nowere comes xlose to the CGI they showed at E3. A good example of the obvious downgrade would be when the dropship gets hit by the lighting compare that shot to the CGI trailer and you will see what I mean.cyprus646
Yes it is.
And it's "no where"
Go excercise.

Considering that you have a "Anything Sony Hater" tag shows that you are being a troll and your post is biased. So please consider the following:
Being at the point in graphics where they are, is one fine feat in gaming. Being in a Pre-Alpha stage it is one amazing job that Sony and Guerilla have accomplished. Please put all your system wars stuff behind, and look at it from a gamer's point of view. This is what next-gen means and what everyone of us should appreciate. I applaud Sony and Guerilla at what a fine job they have done.
If you've only seen the gameplay footage on Gamespot. Do yourself a favor and download it in Windows HD (If your PC can display that). The streaming video didn't do it justice. But onceit's seenin HD (the way it's meant to be seen  ). Then you can see just how close they came to matching the CG trailer. Don't BS me and say "buh buh Ive alredy seen it. Teh grafix sux." Download it!
Pwetty.
It's a shame the fire effects are still sub-par. It takes away from the mind-numbing deliciousness of the graphics.
Hopefully the coding is as beautiful, though.
Broken programming with beautiful graphics is so... disappointing.
I just watched the 2007 E3 vid of Killzone 2, and I can say without a doubt that the game looks horrible. I don't know what stage of development that they are in, but what I saw of the game didn't impress.

Looks very close plus it's pre-alpha.
XenogearsMaster
About that..
For being pre-alpha, that looks awfully complete.
I'd wager they worked their arses off and that's more beta than anything else.
No one shows alpha to the public.
Remember Too Human?

Remmember Halo 3?
What are you talking about?
You said "No one shows alpha to the public"
Cedmln
You mean Bungie showing an in-game engine cutscene and releasing a BETA demo?
[QUOTE="outsidethewall"][QUOTE="Cedmln"]Cedmln
releasing a BETA demo?
And guess what graphics it was using... Alpha. They didn't just show it. We got to play it.

I am convinced that Killzone 2 will flop after seeing the E3 2007 video. There are already loads of games that do more graphically.

So what if it is pre-alpha. Don't say that the graphics can only get better. They may even have to downgrade it if the current game gets choppy in some parts of the game
Really? Remember those first screenshots of Halo 3? Yea, that's right. Downright atrocious. Look how far the game has come since then, why can't the same happen to Killzone 2? Afterall, this is the first actual content we have seen of it, and they still have a good amount of time left to work on it. Besides, it's not like the game doesn't look good as it it. It looks amazing, even Gamespot and other professional sites have to agree. Getting praises as ranking among the best seen to date isn't a small compliment.

halo 3 ? Bungie used the whole pre-alpha excuse when the game dint look great . Then when it was released ( beta ) it looked way better . It's like every one skips the part were I praise the game and jumps on what I think. My tag does say sony hater but that dosnet mean I actually hate everything sony I dont like there consoles. I was really surprsed at how much the game progressed and gave guerilla props for getting the game to this level in my other post (wich you obvious didnt bother to check) Cows are saying this game looks better the any other console game ever released wich is an overstatment. But then one some one says it's not near the 05 trailer they go and say "but it's on pre alpha" Im just saying the game dosent look llike the 05 trailer and gave valid reason. Your just quick to judge and call me a troll because of my sig .Please Log In to post.
