Jade Empire : Special Edition for PC Download | Origin Games (on the house )

Apparently Jade Empire SE is free on Origin at the moment. If you haven't played it, I highly recommend it!

I think that it's not officially On the House yet, on their on the house page in the client it still shows Red Alert 2. I hope they fix it soon, just give it another try later. ^^

Its a good game, but with some major flaws.

They took a grey morality system and made it black and white is one of them.

EA is still trying to get me to use Origin, it's adorable.

The only way for Origin to not be suck is for it to stop existing.

I don't understand the hate towards Origin. It's a quite good DD service and I never experienced any kind of issues while using it.

A top RPG, and one of the most authentic Chinese-themed games. Most other games supposedly based in ancient China tend to just copy-paste Japanese themes and think it's the same.

I hope Obsidian will pick up the game someday, maybe.

Origin is a a good DD service. We need more DD services so steam doesn't get a complete monopoly on the market, steam fanboys fail to that. competition = consumers benefit

Yeah. Another thing I don't get is that fanboyism around DD services on PC. I mean, everyone can use all of them. For free.

The only thing I ever actually bought on Origin was the Mass Effect Trilogy. Well, and that Humble Origin bundle from way back in the day, but EA didn't get a cent of my money from that.

I have it on Steam, though i'm ashamed to admit that i've only played a few hours.

Is this like a regional thing or a mistake? $9.99 for me and "On the House" is still Red Alert 2.

They usually change the On the House game on a Tuesday and like every two months(last one was September 15) so they will probably change it this Tuesday.

Those games were never "On the House". The Sims 2 complete wasn't really an "On the House" game, it was just to celebrate the incoming release of The Sims 4.

By far one of Bioware's best games ever. I loved this game back on the PC. I would love a sequel one day if it ever happens.

This seems to be no longer free. Its now back at full price. It's most likely planned to be On-The-House. I don't think they actually release it on the weekends and what happened today was just a hiccup in their systems, so wait a day or 2 and it might come back up properly.

... Hmm I can't say I agree with this, it isn't that bad at all.. The only one I do not like personally is Uplay.. Because if you purchase a game through another source, like steam, you still have to log on to uplay to use it.. Meaning if you some how lose your uplay account, your game in your steam account is now worthless.

I don't understand how it can be that bad when comparing to the last two Dragon Age games and their Sonic game for DS, but free is free anyways.

Nice, it actually works this time. EA can do some cool things from time to time. Can't remember the last time steam had a good free game (Red Orchestra maybe?)

@Postosuchus: got dragon age origins last November for free, that was pretty cool. SIM City 2000 early this year too I think.

Why do you say so? I finished the first major fight (finishing off the bandits form the boat). So, far it seems interesting. It got descent reviews on GS.

Nice, this is one of the first PC games I bought... left the disc at my parents when I moved out and my Dad lost it. Will be happy to finally finish this game.

Pretty clunky game, but still good for free. @foxhound_fox, I don't think Plants Vs Zombies was ever on the house.

Man I don't remember the combat being so bad. The 30fps lock makes is seem like everything is in slow motion (thankfully can be changed with .ini though) and the camera is really obnoxious while using a controller.

I never understand the "fun" people speak of when it comes to Mass Effect for goodness sake.... I mean even the rpg elements aren't really deep either. At best the game is just a third person shooter. Even the so called biotic powers aren't all that spectacular either considering the possibilities and what they could've done with it.

I'll take a game with some decent melee hand to hand combat any day over another generic shooter type combat but then again.... With that said Jade Empire could've done better in that area as well. I wish they could've consulted with people that know real shit about authentic martial arts and like you said it's basically just a western interpretation made by people that probably don't know much

although the story can be debatable. It's not some earth shattering make you think type of story. Just standard fair stuff.

Missed it, oh well there are other ways..like buying it, yeah that's it, that's the the ticket.
