Both handhelds are claimed to be revolutionary in their market, and with the current stalemate, all we can say is that neither company lived up to their word.
PSP is shining simply because it's the fist handheld to contend with Nintendo blow for blow.

um, i think you forgot about the sega game gear, which was actually the first hand held, to go blow by blow with nintendo. honsetly, as much as i dont wanna admit it.. in a couple of months, the Ds numbers are gonna double even more, trust me on this. what you see in japan is just a sample of what you gonna expect from the Ds in sales world wide

Yeah, the only problem with good close competition is that it makes my gaming habit even more expensive :(. However everything else about it is awesome :D

lol.... another sheep in denial if DS was gonna outsell the PSP, it could've done it in the last 6 months since psp NA release - if it ain't doing it now (while the psp is priced high, no basic package, no good games), it's never (priced down psp + 30+games in the last 3 months of the year?)
