So by an estimate the xbox one issay to have at least 18 million units sold, which many have deny and try to claim it sold more but without actual proof, now others have use the 18 million number as some proof that the xbox one is considerably outselling the xbox 360 in the same time frame.
Boy the reality is further from the truth and what i am about to post would explain why MS is not releasing numbers really.
Last month's full retail sales figures haven't been tallied just yet, but Microsoft today gave number-hungry gamers a few morsels to tide them over. Calling its Xbox 360 the industry leader "hands down," Microsoft announced that it had sold 17.7 million systems worldwide.
The Xbox 360's biggest game to date also received a sales update, as Microsoft revealed that it had sold 8.1 million copies of Halo 3 since its September release. Combined with the hardware base, this suggests that nearly 46 percent of Xbox 360 owners have purchased a copy of the Bungie-developed shooter.

The xbox 360 sold as of December 31 2007 it sold 17.7 million units basically 300k shy of the 18 million the xbox one was reveal now, this will explain why MS has being so lip tied about xbox one sales, they are basically spot on the xbox 360 wasn't selling that hot for the first 2 years, not only that if you take into account that the xbox 360 had a shortage for 5 months, that had no bundles with free hot games, even less 2 games with a $50 gift card, and didn't have $200 in price drops in the first 2 years it make the xbox one 300k lead seem like nothing and does make the xbox one look stale, the xbox one should be outdoing those 360 numbers considerable without problems with all those freebies and price drops.
Also Halo 3 sold 8.1 million copies in 3 months,Halo 5 is not even halfway there on a user base which is 300k bigger than the xbox 360 one.
I think irrefutable now that the xbox one and xbox 360 basically are neck and neck.
