Is next gen's launch lineup somewhat decent? The full list so far.

As a PS5 preorderer, I'm excited for this launch. There's strong support from third party and first party. Admittedly, Sony's is stronger, but at least you will get the benefit of better performance from both systems. What do you think, SW? Is this a decent launch lineup compared to previous gens?

That's strong support for you? A bunch of multiplats, cross-gen games and remakes?

More games on the PS5 side but out of those I'm only getting AC Valhalla and Astro's Playroom (as it's installed on every PS5). I'm going to hold out to buy more until Outriders and Oddworld.

TBH, without Halo: Infinite, there's nothing to write home about.

For a launch? Yea I think so. I think the last time I was impressed with a launch game was Mario 64. You usually get forgettable games. Here we're getting the latest installments from our favorite franchises, but there's also some new stuff as well. I've had a PS4 and an aging GPU for a while, so the opportunity to play these on new hardware is exciting. Demon Soul's is a remake, but it's a remake of a great game. I'm also excited because I'm getting a new TV haha so I can't wait to see them on the new screen.

Do hermits get a free game with those overpriced graphics cards that just released?

Was really hoping for GT7 to be a launch title but it's Polyphony we're talking about. Getting MM and Destruction Allstars if my preorder doesn't change.

@me2002: Phil paid for timed exclusive series X upgrades. The upgrades will come come to PS5 later.

Oh its also available on PS4 and Xbone, so you still can play it via BC on PS5.

Absolutely bore inspiring lineup on both sides. Very little justification for me to get an xsx, none whatsoever to get a ps5....pretty sad when Gamepass is the best reason to buy a console.

Since Halo won't make the launch, I wonder if MS can pull a rabbit outta the hat and have MSFS ready for XSX at launch? Atleast that would give me something to be real excited about. :D

This would usually be a really strange thing to say, but COD looks like the best game at launch. It takes advantage of performance and graphical features and looks pretty good. Mile Morales would be next, but that game is more and more meh the more I see of it.

Line-up is...basic. Nothing really impresses me.

Personally, I want to see what Namco Bandai does, and which consoles they release those games for. Also, I want to see what microtransactions are like across all games.

Gran Turismo is a joke every since GT Sport and most of Sony's exclusives either go multi-plat or are Ip's that I don't care about. Most of Microsoft's ip's are probably coming to pc, so if I can play them on low settings at1080p or higher on my current rig, then there isn't much point in me buying a Series S. An X, maybe, I'm still debating on that.

The PS5 has to win me over with exclusives, because I'm more interested in the series X as apposed to the white internet modem that looks like it'll have cooling issues. That's coming from a guy who always bought Sony's console first in the past, outside of handhelds, by the way.

Cyberpunk 2077 missing launches by a week, but I think will be the biggest game among them.

Much much better than the ps3 and ps4 launch in my opinion!

Demon's Souls is a killer app as far as I'm concerned. It might be a remake but it's arguably the most visually impressive game shown yet. It may as well be an all new game with those visuals with RT running at a smooth 60fps and load times being under 1 second.

Throw in Cold War, Miles and of course Cyberpunk and this is an amazing launch lineup for me. Those games will easily keep me busy until next year.

I’m quite satisfied with that launch lineup for the Xbox Series X myself. Games I want to get there are:

- Gears Tactics

- Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition

- Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

- Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War

- Yakuza Like A Dragon

I’m kind of so-so on Watch Dogs Legion right now.

Anyway that’s certainly more then enough to keep me busy for quite some time for sure.

That launch lineup looks pretty weak to me, all those games are on PS5 except Gears Tactics, and all of them are XB1 too nothing really fancy about it that says I need this console.

Lol Gears Tactics. You wouldn't even pretend to care about an RTS on console if it wasn't the only first party game for Xbox at launch.

- StarCraft

- WarCraft 1, 2, and 3

- Command & Conquer, Tiberian Sun, Firestorm, Red Alert 2, 3, Yuri’s Revenge

- Dune 2000

- Halo Wars 1 and 2

youch. my PC crapping out may have been a bit of a blessing in disguise (i'm trying to be positive). The PS5 one is better but neither really have much to jump for joy over for me.

I think wait for GT, maybe Q4 2021 even, then take the plunge. that's my plan.....for now.

This launch lineup sucks now. It looked a lot better for Sony when Spiderman MM was PS5 only.

Now their best game is on PS4 and those people don't need to upgrade to this system to play it.

Demon Souls Remake is all they have and I'm excited its still a remake of an old game its not a brand experience for some people.

Xbox don't even get me started one game is a tactical old PC game from months ago and its on XB1 too its the worst lineup I've ever seen.

XB1 had Dead Rising 3 / Ryse Son of Rome / Forza Motorsport 5 YOU Could not play these games on 360 they were all next gen you had to upgrade to play them.

I would get Demon's Souls for sure. I just wish From were the ones making it with tech help from BluePoint. There is so much more they could do with it besides visuals. cut content and combat evolution from where souls game are at. Like SOTC sony tends to do the bare minimum with these things. My sleeper hit is Destructions Allstars. I like the concept but starting to get worried there is a bad reason why they are not showing gameplay demo.

The rest on the list are meh to me. Not really big on spiderman and xbox should have gone all in on cyberpunk. Why wait for upgrades why not run the pc build that has ray tracing and everything on the mighty X. They have marketing deal and they have position the launch perfectly. Why nvdia got all the goodies. The launch line up is kinda pathetic. The most powerful console is not showing its prowess.

Not a thing on either console that's worth a day one purchase. Admittedly I'm out of the market for Xbox even if they had something worth playing on it, but PS5... Demon's Souls remaster is nice but I played it on PS3 no big rush to get round to playing it again. Nice for first timers I suppose. No interest in Spiderman either.

Don't have the time right now but someone should do an equivalent what you can get on PC at time of their launch.

I can't say there is anything on either list that I find particular interesting that isn't already out.

Its absolute trash on both sides, but Demon's remake isn't only a good game, but the best remake ever made. With that being said, the ps5 lineup crushes the little poopy XSX lineup.

Weird how Phil would pay for Yakuza. Doubt the xbots even want that. Seems like a lot of money for...not much.

Sony already got exclusive rights/marketing deals for everything else. Phil eats table scraps that Jim Ryan drops on the floor.
