Is it me or does PC gaming suck now?

I hate PC gaming now. When I was a kid it was so much better. You'd have to be in complete denial that modern PC gaming sucks.

Ah yes. It was the early 10's late 2000's. I came home on a lonely Friday night and played video games on my computer. I'd play Team Fortress 2 and stuff. I'd pirate a game or 2.

Back then we had CD's and they had amazing video games on them such as Half-Life and Unreal. Of course back then computers where more compatable with these games. You didn't always have to buy DLLs for every game that missed one.

But technology had to march forward.

And ofcourse the graphics where better even though I used a potato to game.

Nowadays it seems every hack company wants to release separate Launch services like Steam. What with GOG and EPIC and Origin. It's totally feudal right now. I just wanna play a good video game that I love.

Of course Steam used to be better in my opinion.

IDK bro but PC gaming now feels completely outdated. There is no fun fast interface for games on Microsoft that I know of.

Everyone is telling me "Buy a PC bro Buy a PC bro." Yeah sure. Let me just wait for Steam to update.

But please tell me how good modern PC gaming is?

You are entitled to your opinion but I completely disagree, I think PC gaming is great and to me it is the best way to play games.

Dunno about that. Been playing Tarkov for the past few weeks and that's not on consoles nor is it coming to consoles.

I dont think its that PC gaming sucks, I think the golden age of games in general has passed.

Games like unreal 2004 and CS 1.6 kept me in bliss, the amount of custom maps and content was greater than anything on console at the time. Its not that PC gaming sucks today, games just kinda suck in general.

UT2004 had over 100 maps, compare that to anything today.... Its pathetic, what happened

CSGO is souless, they now make sprays micro transactions, so many micro transactions. $200 knife skins, what happened?

Nothing wrong with PC gaming, but game developers are not taking advatage of the platform at all. Honestly PC gaming feels closer to console gaming than ever before.

PC gaming is bigger than it was ever before. getting all best version of multiplats, microsoft supporting PC as lead platform now, getting most of console games now on PC.

PC market is bigger than ever.

Only thing dt sucks is increase in price on nvidia gpus tiers, ram and exploits found on cpus

Lol pc game back in the day was god awful. Its miles better right now.

About the games, i do agree back in the day we had better and more fun games to play. But our standards where also far lower then now.

Same here, been a PC gamer since Age of Empires back in '97 and PC gaming is its best it's ever been.

I think we are currently at a golden age of pc gaming. I don’t remember a time with more variety. Really don’t get your opinion

Uh, how slow is your internet? You can update all your launchers, your GPU drivers, and run a antivirus scan in the time it takes your console to turn on and launch a game...

He's complaining about Steam updates, so he must be on dial-up with a 20 year old 5400 IDE HDD.
