arbitor 365 - a love story
I say yes, and the ending made me cry. I haven't cried in years, and never to a video game.

Why? :?Because the story is cliche as f*ck. Anybody with the slightest experience in movies, books, video games, life, whatever, has seen it done before countless times (and done much better). Chief didn't even have any semblance of character up until Halo 4 and now we're just supposed to buy the idea that him and Cortana have some kind of deep and meaningful relationship? Get outa here. It's so ridiculously forced and poorly executed.

It's idiots who think they're better than you for not crying that p!ss me off
Ending was done pretty well.
Have a feeling we haven't seen the last of Cortana though
If you don't like it, fine. Don't crap on anyone elses opinions about it. Games and movies/TV constantly feed off each other and steal ideas. I'm sure someone feels the same over something that made you cry before.

No. It's because apparently some of these people have no idea what quality storytelling is. Silent Hill 2, Planescape Torment, Nier, Bioshock, etc, those games have quality storytelling. Hell, even Black Ops 1 and 2 have better storytelling. Halo 4's is incredibly basic stuff.

It's true. Those games atleast get creative with the way they tell their stories. Halo 4's story is entirely straightforward and simple.
Where the hell is Liquid, Darklink, and champ when you need em.

Now you're just spouting sh!t.All those games have had similar things happen in TV, books and movies too. Also Blops? really? come on man. Saying that has great storytelling and Halo doesn't is a contradiction. Halo has great storytelling, great dialogue and characters. You just have some other reason for not thinking it. Like a petty resentment of the series or you don't like why so many others like it.
As far as quality goes, Halo has always been right up there.

For sure. It's not that Halo 4's story was bad but there was way too much love for it in this thread. It's not insulting to Halo to remind everyone what real excellence in storytelling is. Halo isn't even about the story.
There is no reason to have complexity just for the sake of it. If the source material is good and there is a story to tell, a straight forward approach is just fine.
It's not the best story in gaming, but it's not terrible either

I think most agree with you, but TC wrote that it was the best love story this gen.
Black ops 1 is standard for video games, nothing special and the twist was obvious throughout most of the game. :? Also, I 'm curious do you need them because you're unable to argue your point adequately? Anyway my answer to the topic is no.

I think most agree with you, but TC wrote that it was the best love story this gen. Exactly. I'm not talking about the main story were Ancient Evil Dude wants to steal the McGuffin to take over the universe (or destroy it, I wasn't too clear on that) I was arguing that Master Chief's and Cortana connection was very well executed, which is why the ending was such a big payoff (for others...not for you obviously). It was easily the best part of the story and carried the story for me. That's why I think it did a better job than any game this gen at that part. Please Log In to post.
