@filthyn00b: lol crysis 3. Overall package TLOU2 looks better.
RDR2 looks good too:
I think RDR2 and TLOU 2 have it beat in animations, but GOT's world is just stunning.
RDR2 seem best overall.
Custcenes, I'd give it to TloU 2 on its best. RDR2 look a hair more stylized face models. Combat animation is among the best, lip synch probably the best and most consistent.
Metro for RT
GoT, absolutely best ground foliage because of the illusion of physics and particles + art. (weaker on faces and lips synch). The ambient occlusion on the grass make the game look so dense. I kept gushing on this on Days Gone and it's also here. The weird halo artifact from ao is also quite thin in GoT so it's pretty nice.
The Division 2 on PC is a stunning looking game too. The density of the environments and level of detail is usually high. The game runs extremely well too. Snowdrop Engine is very impressive. Some old screens (full quality 3440x1440 in my profile images). Warlords of New York expansion looks even better. I played it at 1440p/120hz HDR on my OLED and it looked amazing.

Looks good.
@rzxv04: Yeah, console gamers usually leave it out of the discussion because it looks and runs like shit on console....
I made Geralt as my character too. :)
Very noticeable difference.
I still think GoT's foliage with its ao look really good in motion. It's quite dense and almost as if smaller patches (not every blade) individually reacts to wind, player and npcs. It's definitely got inferior textures compared to low-mid range PCs. I hope foliage on GoT will become the baseline norm, next gen
BoTw seem mechanically better as it can be cut and probably better use of fire propagation but without shadows/ao it doesn't look near as grounded as GoT and also due its shaders and how blades look more multi-directional per patch:

Overall, PC definitely is king for overall visuals thanks to mods and powerful hardware.
GOT and TLOU2 hands down look amazing for console games, but man the textures are really awful on these games.
I know, kinda shallow, but RDR 2 on PC is a lot better than both of them, IF you have the machine capable of maxing the settings out.
Also, 30 FPS ruins the experience too.
Not to mention crysis 3 has better imagination, all naughtydog did was take pictures of places around seatle and make a location look similar to real life with ''overgrown'' factor to it.

I wonder if we'll see lots of VRS/low texture motion sceenshots next gen consoles for the purpose of trolling since it's supposedly gonna be a hardware feature for next gen.
RDR2 is quite impressive on scale but I think there were youtube comparisons on body destruction where ND gives more detail.
Melee combat in RDR2 seem a little weird as if they're slowed down by 15-20% compared to a more natural motion, like they're pulling punches. ND gives better impact, facial and instanced animation but from what I've been looking at so far, RDR 2 might have more contextual animations for combat scenarios (e.g carrying someone while kicking another npc, punch/kick while riding).

I'm still looking into the foliage system of RDR2 but so far, I'm mostly seeing milder ground foliage motion compared to GoT.
Again RDR2 hands down as an entire package is the winner (has fun MP too, I hear).
@rzxv04: It's an open world game vs a corridor action adventure game. RDR 2 will be beat by close details for sure. But man, all these games look amazing, NGL.

Actually, the animations are the same during the sandbox area which I found boring (Seattle) because unlike RDR2, it's not as dense when you're outside. Many areas of TLOU 2 aren't really corridors as those can happen on wider spaces (some parts of California missions) but yeah again RDR2 is a far, far better simulation of a large game world and the animations aren't really that far off. Yes, it's still tighter in things like maps and fov but I guess when I think corridor action, I think of the recent RE games.
I love AAA games that tries to at least be "AAA" in animations.
RDR2 and Kingdom Come Deliverance on PC are the best looking games ive ever seen.
No console will ever come close to PC.
Just because it LOOKS pretty doesnt mean its TECHNICALLY better.
PS4 is 7years old, its beyond naive to think that it would outperform even a midrange PC, even on multiplats.
There are so many sacrifices needed to make games LOOK nice on consoles.
@uninspiredcup: agreed - I think we're firmly planted in an era where most games look "good" and artistry is really the king of whether a game shines or not. And that can come in small and humble packages often.
So true. In the end, it's what the gamer experiences, that counts. GoT is stunning!
And I'm playing on a 1080p screen
And this guy bashes PC regularly. BIG YIKES.
You clearly don't read my posts because I have a gaming PC with an ultra wide monitor.
Throw ridiculous amounts of saturation and orange at people and they think it's the prettiest thing in the world.
Art is great in Got..but...
-interiors are just meh
-Water: bad
-characters :bad
-Anisotropic filtering: 10 meters ahead everything is so blurry...
Rocks: 3 polygons….(almost)
add excessive saturation et tons of post-process effects….
no it's not amazing at all
crysis 3 probley still blows all these games away tbh.
too bad Crysis 3 suck so much that it made Crysis 2 good.
Depends. If the operative word is "Beautiful", then I've rarely seen more gorgeous scenes than in Sea of Thieves. Cackle if you must, but shiver me timbers it's a Rare sight to behold.....
In terms of actual graphical excellence, not much tops RDR2 though.
I know it's not a game technically but.... if we are just talking about graphics.
MS flight simulator 2020 wins easily.
@warmblur: True. Red Dead Redemption 2 is probably the best looking multi-system game out, but tech graphics wise, nothing on current gen consoles comes close to Flight Simulator and Star Citizen.
Good thing we are about to get consoles that could easily run those games :)
@PAL360: Star Citizen might be a technical marvel but its also one of the most bland, bleh looking games I've seen in some time. It wouldnt be anywhere close to being on my (read that again MY) best looking games list.
truly a technical marvel

After seeing H:ZD on computer I'm scoffing that anything on PlayStation could be considered a "graphics king".
The third person camera angles in these games (this one, Last of Us, HZD) hide lower res texture work, texture filtering, poor aliasing at distance with plenty of artifacts, and generally just poor distance detail. Sometimes I wonder if console kids just mistake bloom and motion blur for good graphics.
Just unlocked Ghost Stance. This part was epic!! This game really impresses with its use of colors and artistry.
