Is Dying light 2 feel more promising than Cyberpunk 2077?

Hello friends,

While watching the footage of both games and do some research into both. i found many similarities. they both are open world, first person narrative driven game with RPG elements and choices. I found dying light 1 a terrible game. it was just another zombie beat with pipe game and main character was hipster. however they have changed the sequel from zombie game to not so zombie game with immersive sim elements and very story driven.

Cyberpunk 2077 I saw the footage and it imo looks just mediocre. while dying light 2 footage surprise me. Cyberpunk gameplay and combat looks awful. almost borderlands type with bullet sponges enemies. story and dialouges try too hard to be edgy and feel more like cartoony or gta rather than some serious tone. on other hand Dying light 2 combat seem very fun. and premise looks much better and more interesting. like how it set in modern dark age and how citizen of the world cant even access water. and how our main character can has choice either fight them or make a deal with enemies. chris avellon is working on dying light 2 and it looks far more immersive game.

so friends, is dying light 2 looks and feel more promising than cyberpunk 2077?

Both games look interesting to me.

Dying Light 2 turned into another "Humans are the real enemy" zombie project. And I don't know if I'm feeling that. I'm pumped for Cyberpunk though.

If it's anything like The Witcher series Cyberpunk will be a mechanically broken mess, given a free-pass for good writing.

TW3 has a few issues but it was hardly a mechanical broken mess.

I hope not. System Wars is the only good thing why I'm still coming to Gamespot. Take away System Wars, I'll be leaving GS for good.

While Dying Light 2 and Cyberpunk are both my most anticipated upcoming games, I consider the latter a lot more promising. I'm really interested to see CDPR's take on an enormous and richly detailed cyberpunk world with immersive sim mechanics. On the other hand, while I appreciate Techland's attempt on a more narratively complex game, I'm worried about zombies standing down as the main enemy in favor of humans.

Cyberpunk 2077 > Dying Light 2

If Cyberpunk is anywhere near as good as The Witcher 3, and God forbid it manages to surpass it, I'll consider CD Project Red to have moved up to the upper echelons of best developers. Period.

I worry the game won't live up to expectations the bar has been set so high after witcher 3.

i don't really know much about cyberpunk's plot other than it's set in a dystopian future similar to blade runner, mega corporations rule and people mod themselves with technology. but that still sounds orders of magnitude more interesting than what you find interesting about dying light 2

Cyberpunk is going to be much much better than Dying light 2 and any of the witcher games. Better optimization, visuals, interactions and non linear characters.

I am looking forward to Cyberpunk 2077 simply to see their take on a cyberpunk world. I never played through an entire Witcher game but I am aware they have a lot of branching story paths and many different endings. Similarly, Dying Light 2's world is supposed to change depending on player choice so it will be interesting to see to what degree it's truly flexible. Some reason though I thought zombies would be less present than last game so frankly not sure what to think. I liked Dead Island games though, Dying Light felt more like same game with many same assets under different name because publisher and IP rights issue, plus more tweaking of the game's mechanics. Anyhow, more excited for Cyberpunk 2077 myself, I like that more cyberpunk games are being made, the last two Deus Ex games are awful, but I liked some of the indie entries like Ruiner and >Observer_.

Both games will be great and you would think that would make gamers happy. You will know how awesome Cyberpunk will be by how popular it will be and how much time edgelords will devote to hating on it.

No, but Cyberpunk is looking meh for me. Consdiering witcher 3 is my top game this gen, and top 5 of all time. That says a lot.

Only thing that sucks is your taste. You are just a casual gamer who can't play anything other than watered down run and gun games, and in between droughts you spend your time on SW and pretend to be a hardcore gamer.

It does. But that game has huge periods without combat with a wholly unique setting and characters. It's combat is borderline pointless.

Witcher is very combat heavy in comparison, with a not terribly original setting, story or protagonist.

Indoor zombies with more focus on humans and chris avellone's the world reacts to your choices shite.

I'll take the slavs over Dying Light 2.

LOL so witcher 3 is hardcore? a game with broken mechanics with long and lenghty dialouges that feel like a talking simulator. come on my friend.

Deus Ex and System Shock 2 lable as FPS has better RPG elements than Mass effect or witcher. those games didnot had nudity or sex scenes because those developers know its waste of time so lets focus on good level design. TW3 is not really mass effect level of bad. now that game was flatout bad. TW3 is just another boring ubisoft like open world game with bad gameplay and good lore. thats it.

This was my feeling.

I'm generally confused when people make a deal about the story which is sappy melodramatic and fails to provide true motivation to continuing other than engaging in more of the terrible combat.

The acting and narration is so dry and detached I never found myself immersed into The Witcher world. Just have to accept my critical opinion is very selective and divergent compared to others who are satisfied with seemingly soulless and cliche narratives.

I can even deal with cliche stories, but the delivery of the whole thing was just sleep inducing.
