Not sure what to make of this. Anyone with looked closely enough saw that Black wasn't going to be a great game, the developers described it as "gun porn" for goodness sake.
Anyways, Crytek established themselves very well with Far Cry, whose "wolf among sheep and shepards" approach to gameplay impressed a lot of gamers. Plus, the graphics are represent a much bigger leap then Black could ever hope to achieve on dated hardware.
What exactly does BLACK and Crysis have in common? Are you implying Crysis is all flash, no substance? Only ignorant, jealous people believe that's the case.InsaneBasurathe fact that ea bought quality developers and use reputations earned before ea involvment to hype a game that dosn't deliver, but ea dosn't care because they already got your money. are you saying that criterion had no substance? they made renderware, the most popular game engine last gen.

The difference here being that Crytek is still independent and surely have full creative control over their IP. Otherwise I'm sure they could've found another publisher which agreed to their terms.

Black shouldn't get such a beating, it wasn't that bad. In fact, it's a pretty sweet, short, rent-it-and-leave-it game. ihatebugersI loved it, it was one of the best looking Xbox games ever.
