Am I the only one who doesn't give a shit about next-gen consoles or "next-gen" games?

Yeah. I'm intrigued by the tech and progress of the industry, but I have no interest in buying consoles myself. I'm about 15+ years past the days when I would have been tempted by all the latest and greatest releases. These days I have a more casual and relaxed approach to my gaming, and my PC satisfies all my needs, so that's enough for me.
If Sony will indeed start release their 1st party games on PC, i will have literally zero reason to buy a console. My PS4 Pro is noticably collecting dust for months (and that is no easy task, since it's white colored, lol), all 1st party MS/Xbox games get already superior PC version by default and while Nintendo might have some good exclusives, their hardware is just an overpriced trash since 2006...
I don't have any plans to purchase PS4 anytime soon, I'll purchase PS5 within 3 years pass once the system matures enough to warrant a purchase with lots of exclusive games to choose from. Like @WESTBLADE said, unless Sony starts to release the there exclusive games on PC, chances of me buying PS5 is very slim.
Buying Xbox Series X is out of the question since I have a gaming PC and that leaves Nintendo's next-gen console. While I already own Switch, I been playing my Switch and love the portability. With all of that said, I'll totally buy next-gen Nintendo console so yeah "Getting next-gen console" with Nintendo and I never like the idea of sticking to just PC gaming, I need flexibility in my room.
@davillain-: But you already have a PS4, so why would you buy another???
Oh and to get a next gen Nintendo console you will need to wait a few gens until Nintendo finally make something better than next gen consoles, so about 10-15yrs lol.

Fine by me, whatever Nintendo has up on their sleeves, the wait will be worth it, oh I'm sure of it.
PS4 has been good to me, I wouldn't mind if PS4 happens to be my last Sony console. I'm hoping Sony starts releasing their games on PC and if not, guess I'll buy PS5 only if there's a game I really want to play.
PC will be my primary source for gaming like it has been for the last 15 years but I may pick up a PS5 down the road if there is enough exclusives I'm interested in to warrant a purchase.

PC gaming is now bigger than it was before.

Nintendo is not officially released in my country and my ps4 has collected a lot of dust over the last couple of years so yes, PC is the way to go for me.
I'm obviously sticking to PC but I've owned every Nintendo consoles since the SNES so I can never say that I am 100% just on PC. But I am planning on maybe getting a PS5 eventually.
The last console I had was the PS2 - at the time, there was nothing console specific, besides maybe the Gran Turismo titles that led me to gravitate towards one. Once I got in to GTA on PC and discovered the modding scene, that was it for me and I've never looked back.

Good to find another person that owned the Wii U.
Hey all 7 of us got to stick together right? :P
@vfighter: My parents never bought my little brother or I, game consoles when we were growing up, but didn't seem to care too much about our PC gaming habits. Consequently, that's where I did most of my gaming. It's really been a matter of familiarity/what I'm used to lol
I have a PC so I'm not sure I'll get a Series X without some other compelling reason like all BC Xbox/360 games running at 4k. Will buy all of MSs first party titles though so they win either way.
Definitely getting a PS5 though, really wish Sony would jump on board the PC train with their games
I haven't bought a console for myself since the 360 and PS3. I doubt the new conosles will change that. I just feel like its such a waste of money I could spend on PC upgrades.
Actually there are only 2 consoles releasing next gen. PS5 and whatever nintendo releasing.
Xbox SX will be pre build PC.
I will be sticking with PC as I much prefer playing on PC. I do sometimes think about getting a console for exclusives but every time I think to myself I have way more games on PC then I have time to play and end up not getting one(a console). I also for whatever reason never seem to enjoy playing even the same games on console that I enjoy playing on PC. I guess I just really like the PC gaming experience, that I can't seem to get on console. Just my personal preference.

Ghost is actually right for once you know.
Yeah, but it's weird for him to reply to my comment to tell me that PC gaming is bigger then before which makes makes no sense to what I said.
Nope, not me. I haven’t kept up with PC gaming for like 20 years now, hell I haven’t even used my PC for anything in general for many years now. I prefer consoles these days and have no plans of changing that. I’m pretty hyped for these next gen systems coming out this year and will be picking those up.
I'm all over PC for the immediate future. Can't wait for the RTX 3000 cards. I'm kinda iffy on wanting to invest in a PS5 if Sony's just gonna end up doing PC ports as I already don't need to buy an Xbox. I want to see how the system performs out the gate.
I am probably going to get a PS5....although if the rumours of sony bringing their games to the PC is true then i may hold off.
i never bothered with a PS4 so, assuming the PS5 has full BC, i intend to get the PS5 and raid the PS4 backlog.
I will also more than likely get whatever nintendo come out with next for the variety.
Still mainly PC though going forward.
I plan on getting a next gen console as soon as they come out, most likely PlayStation 5, but I’ll wait til all the info is out before I make my final decision.
PC + Nintendo.
- PC made up more than 99% of my game time this gen.
- Nintendo consoles always have at least two of my fav games of their respective gens, as well as many others I end up enjoying. It's a safe bet.
- PS4 was by far my least played Sony console. Aside from Bloodborne could have been an easy pass. But you never know with Sony, so it's a wait and see.
- Xbone was the first major console I've ever skipped and I'll likely skip their new box for the same reasons. Still, wait and see, just very unlikely.
I'll be giving my PS4 to my sister and I'll buy a PS5. (Most PS4 games should be playable on it regardless, so there's no need for me to keep the older hardware.) That, and I buy Nintendo consoles.
I bought a gaming PC in 2015. I still have it. It was fun but it's something I wouldn't invest in again at least for a while. I initially gamed on it but I now just use it for simple tasks. I personally just find consoles more comfortable.
On another note, I've never been one to care for graphics. If the experience is there, that's enough for me. :P
