Project 007 job listing hints it'll be a third-person action game

According to the listing, the upcoming James Bond game will be a “wholly original Bond story” where players will step into the shoes of 007 before he gained his secret agent status - which will be a first for the James Bond series.

Lower down in the advert, the studio is asking for whoever applies to have “experience working with third-person action games,” which gives us an idea of how the game will play. This is would make sense given that the studio’s previous title Hitman 3 was also a third-person action game.

well I normally disliked third person game but when it comes to IO interactive they are one who made best third person game so im not against it.

they know how to make good level design instead of walking in a straight line.

James bond is in good hand and it will undoubtedly be best 007 game ever made by long margin.

IO interactive have more talent in thier little finger than entire capcom.

the whole Hitman series is masterpiece and some of the best third person games.

IO are not FPS developer so they cant make mediocre FPS in bond skin. let them make what they are expert in. Stealth third person game.

Its a James bond game not based on any movie actor or story.

They will have thier own bond ala sony's spiderman. they have their own story. all of previous bond games were shitty licence games starting either pierce bosnan later daniel craig.

Everything or Nothing was actually a amazing third person shooter. I highly doubt the next game will be action heavy, but slow paced stealth instead.

Id say skip original, play 2 silent assassins, contracts, blood money. then skip Absolution which is action game, then play the world of assassinsation trilogy.

That's not a bad idea. Henry Cavill in a suit would look a lot like the Ian Fleming drawings.

I'm far more willing to give it a shot now. Hopefully we see some gameplay next year to see what's it's going to look like gameplay wise.

Will probably just be the HITMAN engine with very similar game play. Maybe a few scripted action sequences instead of pure simulation.

I hope they improve their engine because it began to show some age ... but overall, i feel the James Bond IP couldn't be in better hands right now.
