Insomniac announces Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse suit for Miles Morales

Spider-Man: Miles Morales has an extra treat for fans: a giant nod to Into the Spider-Verse. Marvel, Insomniac and Sony have revealed that you can use Miles’ black-and-red Spider-Verse suit in the upcoming PS5 and PS4 game. It’s not just a skin on top of the standard model, either. It mimics the flamboyant animation style from the movie, right down to the comic book “pow!” visuals and purposefully choppy frame rate.

You can disable the low frame rate (it’s just a suit mod) if you feel it hampers gameplay, Insomniac’s James Stevenson said.

The animation looks pretty cool. I kinda wish they had made it for the entire game, not just the suit lol. But overall, cool feature to have. Your thoughts, SW? Were you a fan of Into the Spider-Verse? Which is your favorite suit from the Spider-Man games?

This and Demon's Souls are killer apps for sure. It's a real shame that Microsoft has absolutely nothing to compete with them.

I am not sure I like the two different styles of animation mixed together I think I would rather they do it all in the suit animation technique when they use that suit. Mechanics look smooth though

Meh. I prefer the “standard” Spider-Man suit from the ‘90’s Fox Animated Series myself.

The only suit I was looking forward to was the symbiote suit. To leave that out of the 2018 game was a kick to the face.

I'm absolutely hyped for this! They even got the animation framerate in there with the KA-POWS lol.

They're saving it for the Venom arc in the second game I'm sure. And based on MM, we might get a Playstation version of Far from Home in Spiderman 2.

Honestly, the attention to detail with this suit is phenomenal. Hats off to Insomniac.

Only thing cows got to get hyped for is a suit in a PS4 game.

Definitely a cool addition, but a little jarring for a game. The concept made sense in the movies, as he started with low frames and sped up as he became more experienced.

Pretty much this. Marvel's Spider-Man 2 from what I heard will feature both Venom & Carnage into the game as archenemies. (But I don't know if Sony will add the movies counterpart for both Venom & Carnage)

The animation style looks similar to Arc System Works fighters like Guilty Gear Xrd and Dragon Ball FighterZ, where the character animation has a reduced frame rate to replicate the look and feel of an anime or cartoon.
