So yeah, there will never be an Super/Ultra/Mega/Spectacular etc edition of SFV, after claims that SFV will hit the Xbox One once the updates hit this just seals the deal.

SFV is a PS4 and PC only experience. The rest better keep on dreaming.

You could upgrade your physical copy of Super Street Fighter IV to Ultra Street Fighter IV via DLC. They only split the players with SFIV and SSFIV.

I need every character to learn and practice match ups.

Knowing Capcom, the characters may be free to unlock but its probably going to be designed in a way that will increasingly make it harder to unlock the characters. And they're probably going to charge somewhere between $40-$50 for the price of admission and about $5.00 per character...maybe more considering how much they charged for alt skins in SF4.

Not to mention the ability to come back and play this game in the future. Once support ends for this game and the community moves on. you'll be stuck with only the base character that originally came with the game because its all digital now.

Sounds like they're adopting a free-to-play model. Not sure if it's necessarily any better than the previous Super/Turbo/Ultra/Gold Edition stuff.

I think the Free To Play model would be better like in DoA5 Core Fighters where they have one character available for a week every now and then (don't know the actual time interval).

I really wish I was able to play these games at least semi-competently. But I know in advance how this would go, so i'll pass on it.

I cant remember, do you play Smash Bros though? I would get Street Fighter IV 3D on 3DS for cheap to test your interest if wanted. Its one of those things where you cant just guess the moves and master with a repeated effort of guessing. You basically have to bust out a combo list guide and practice with one character and studying the moves. I think Smash Bros is prefect for people who are just casual, semi, or hardcore into the fighting games.

well if you play ranked then during your calibration phase you'll probably lose a lot until the system places you at a low MMR, then you could just start learning/climbing from there (since you would be playing against people of similar skill levels)

edit: also, youtube is your friend. There will definitely be dedicated channels out there geared towards newcomers in getting them up to speed in understanding the game (mixups, spacing, safe vs unsafe actions, reads, etc)

Yeah this is Capcom we are talking about and Street Fighter. There has ALWAYS been a follow up to every street fighter game with a super/ultra etc etc. Let's see if they actually stick to there word.

Maybe it's just me, but I find other fighting games to be more difficult than SF. The defensive/footsie approach is great for beginners imo.

Yeah...i don't really care, its Street Fighter so i know i'll be playing it for the next 7 or 8 years, so i'm cool with one or several versions.

I think im going to wait until the first dlc is released, then I can see what their plan with the game will be. Kinda a big 180, but a welcome one if true

Very cool, I hope they stuck to their word and don't find a loop hole somewhere to milk the hell out of street fighter for the (lost count) time.

@davem1992: Well since Capcom didn't have enought money to develop their own game and Sony came in and helped develop this game, and it's been announced several times that this "numbered" run is exclusive to Sony, it's not going any where.

But if it is successful and makes Capcom a lot of money and they can develop a game without Sony's help or if MS wants to get in on the SF action all they have to do is spend some money make an "Ultimate Steet Fighter" or whatever leave out the 5 part just use the same engine SFV uses and put in Chatacters from past and present SF's.

If the game is good and successful some type of SF will end up on Xbox One. It just won't be part of the SF V numbered run as Sony helped to develop it.

For me though I'd imagine it will be just like SF IV and I will be really amped for it and excited get it then be meh about it cause the game hasn't changed in 20 yrs and I don't find it as fun as newer fighters like Injustice, MK, and Killer Instinct.

Will believe it when I see it...words means nothing as that can change anytime. :P
