'The Xbox Wireless Headset delivers best-in-class audio and chat performance, outstanding design and comfort, and unique experiences that are tailored for each gamer. We are also looking forward to bringing more value to the headset category with innovations not previously found in this price range. We chatted with a host of folks from the audio engineering and design teams to learn more about what the new Xbox Wireless Headset will deliver.'

Are your ears ready?

Cost £90 which isn't that bad.

Looks better than that PS5 headset. I'll stick with my Astros on the consoles though.

I've been gaming with the future of audio since PS5 launch with the 3D Pulse headset. Great device. Hope this matches the quality so Xbox gamers have a great set as well.

Looks good but I’m not really a headset gamer so I think I’ll pass.

Dolby Atmos is the future of gaming audio, along with Dolby Vision for HDR video.

Cool, will put this on my pick up list as I been looking for a headphone wireless but that Xbox headphone looks legit to be my new main headphone.

I seriously doubt it can compete with the top notch audio and comfort of the 3D Pulse.

If it's only 90 bucks, it's probably not that great. You can hear the difference in sub $100 headsets versus $150+ headsets.

@NathanDrakeSwag: Just by looking at the features, I can tell you it's a vastly superior headset to the 3d pulse.

Pulse has a pinhole microphone which can't isolate noises, Xbox has a dualbeam boom mic that can.

Pulse has circular pads, ears aren't circular.

Pulse needs a dongle, xbox's doesn't.

Pulse doesn't support Bluetooth, Xbox does.

Pulse doesn't support Atmos, DTS nor Windows sonic, Xbox does.

Pulse has a quoted 12 hour battery life, Xbox has 15.

@girlusocrazy: That wand mic is a dualbeam. It can isolate background noises and even mute the mic until it hears your voice. Having no wand mic means it would pick up all background noise, chatter and even controller noise.

@sealionact: Multiple mics can be used to isolate the voice so that's not what I'm worried about. I just don't want something sticking out like that. It's inconvenient and looks dumb.

Also isn't Bluetooth a bad thing for something like this? There will be latency.

@girlusocrazy: You can retract the mic if you want, and the Bluetooth is only used to connect to your mobile phone at the same time as your console.

@wonderwinner: If you have small ears, none. Ears are oval, not round. There's a reason why the best headphones use oval cushions....it's more likely to fit different ears.

Some people just have bigger ears.

@hardwenzen: Going by the features, it’s streets ahead of the pulse. Pulse doesn’t even have an equaliser or preset option. I’ll wait for full reviews, but if the sound is decent enough it’ll justify the purchase. Sound isn’t great on the pulse - not even the 3D sound - but it’s not bad. Just way too many other quibbles.

@wonderwinner: If you say so. Wonder why so many manufacturers use oval cushions that are a closer match in shape than a circle then?

That means nothing. What kind of audiophile grade pair of headphones bothers with these gimmicks? If its well built, you wouldn't need any kind of equalizers. It should be great out of the box.

This headset is chasing the same market Sony has been chasing with their Pulse3D, so if you expect quality, be ready to be real disappointed.

@hardwenzen: "If its well built, you wouldn't need any kind of equalizers. It should be great out of the box."

What does that mean? Plenty of games have bad eq, and not everyone has the same sensibility across the audio spectrum. I know 99% of your posts are trolling but now I'm confused.

99%? That's a very high number.

Plenty of games have bad eq if you're wearing a crappy headset. I don't know of any poorly eq'd games when wearing my headphones. Can't even think of one game that made me question its eq.

@hardwenzen: These aren’t Audiophile headphones...but you show me one person who spends the amount of money that true audiophile equipment costs and doesn’t expect to tweak sound. Equalisers are definitely not a gimmick. Not having the ability to at least adjust bass and treble is plain awful, and even worse when you’re using cheapish headsets like these two.

No need to argue just for the sake of it.

Probably not a great set of headphones, nor a good mic. Which is typical for these types of products.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I still prefer a separate mic.

@pyro1245: The mic is actually pretty good. It’s a dual beam mic that isolates voices and cuts out background noise. Might not be studio quality at that price, but definitely better than the pulse.
