I'm buying RDR2 used. Screw you, Rockstar.

The way they abandon their old games is just shameful. Everyone knows about their removing old licensed songs. Then there's also the lack of updates for old games, which sold a lot of copies. Getting GTA IV just to run can be complicated. What really miffs me are all the problems I've had with my dear Max Payne 3. First it was the awful networking in the multiplayer, then it was all my multiplayer progress being deleted by their garbage servers and now it's a pause issue that makes the game unplayable. I've tried everything in an attempt to stop these random, annoying pauses. Reinstalled all of Steam and the Social Club, removed all USB devices, turned off wakeup on LAN, turn down graphics settings, upgraded my computer... I've had it. They don't give a damn about their games. It's all about early sales.

Any time this game has gotten an update in the last several years, it was only for their useless Social Club. And it came out with serious problems.

I will go you one better in i'm not buying it at all.

I'm buying the special edition at launch.

@ezekiel43: It is funny that they haven't updated GTAIV on Steam to run without GFWL. Instead, you have to go to their website, search for some specific fix, which is a bit hidden, I may add, and then install it on your own. I got it working, but man, what a pain.

Most likely, I may pick up RDR2 for 45 bucks from GMG when it finally hits PC. Although, to be honest, I don't feel like I'll be missing out on all that much after experiencing the decline that was GTA V.

I never bought GTAV and I wont be buying RDR2.

I'm never buying this game unless it hits PC.

I bought GTA IV, GTA V and RDR on consoles and regret doing so. I'd rather wait for a playable version than give Rockstar anymore money for not supporting the platform I want to play it on.

This is why I never buy any games.

At some point or other during my 25 years of gaming every dev or publisher has done something or other to upset me and I hope deep grudges against them.

I didn't buy GTAIV, GTAV or RDR. AND I'm not buying RDR2. Not even used. I'm way better than you.

They recently upgraded Read Dead Redemption to 4K on the X for free, 8 years following its release.....sounds like good post launch support to me.

I don't doubt they had some missteps, I did hear about the removal of radio songs and that aspect of the game is a huge part of why I enjoy GTA games so much, but this kind of thing never really impacted me....I mostly only played their GTA and RDR games, single player, and overall I have no issues to report. The thing about the multiplayer in GTAV, I do remember problems with that, but I never really cared about the online for GTA and also I remember thinking it was the first time such as a huge open world went deep online so issues were expected at first.

I guess my main criticism would be to focus on story driven expansions also(like GTA4), not just online stuff like GTA5.

Your issues with your avatar's progress is the very reason why I try my best not to get too attached to an online multiplayer profile in any game. Because I know that one day, the developers will move on and stop caring about that game. And then it'll be like all that hard work was for nothing.

@R4gn4r0k: perhaps MS did all the leg work but they still need the OK from Rockstar, which have been also very supportive of the XOne BC program in general as several of their recent and older games are backwards compatible, so I am pleased with the kind of support they have been giving their games, in some aspects anyways.

Devs need money to pay staff members in order to support older titles. They also use the money to work on what’s next. Buying a game “used” is like spitting in their face and a good way to ensure short lived support for the title. In a way TC, you and gamers like you are the reason the games you love won’t get the support they deserve.

Yep, them manually tinkering with my Steam games to remove content is bullshit.

I'm gonna wait for the eventual PC port. Not gonna double dip on this game this time as I feel it's unnecessary. I just don't feel any hurry to get this.

You got a link to what music got removed in GTA IV ? I was planning to replay that game, but if it's a whole bunch of songs I'll probably reconsider.

I haven't ever tried to play last gen stuff on pc lately but anything connected to games for windows live I usually consider unplayable and refuse to try. With that said I didn't like GTA V very much and didn't like RDR very much either. I will play RDR 2 when it is on sale on PSN for less than $30 though.

Nope. Users created patches anyway to restore it to older versions.

Graphics were downgraded on older GTA's as well I believe.

I won't get it because RDR was such a boooring game.

I meant I skipped out on picking up Spiderman for my Pro. I have enough games to play right now that I can hold off on Spiderman (PS4) & Dragon Quest XI (PC). I'll buy them later on when they drop in price.

They've deleted around 50 songs, which is huge. I don't have a list on hand though.

The list of removed songs is the biggest I've ever seen. It's an entirely different game at this point.

RDR had GOTY Edition as well. Even if RDR2 PC version was gonna release along side with PS4/Xbox One, I wasn't even gonna buy it on launch at all. I got too many games to play with and Rockstars is on my shit list as of now. At least I enjoy playing GTAV on PC, so credit we're it's due :)

@ezekiel43: What I want to know is who the hell is still buying GTA5? Why is this game always on the top or near the top of individual console sales charts? The game came out in 2013 for PS3/360 and then updated a year later for ps4/bone. It's 2018 and people are still buying this? It beats other games out that just came out.

Is there that many casuals who didn't get the game in the first 2 years? We are almost 6 years in and it's still selling.

Does anyone here actually play that GTA Online? I played it twice back when it first came out and said meh.

I don't get the appeal of the online. I get the base story game, but they don't add new expansions like they did with 4, because the kids want to socialize and spend microtransactions with their buds? Maybe I am just old and don't understand the appeal of always online games like that.

That being said. RDR2 is a day 1, I loved RDR1's single player, and the undead nightmare expansion was great too. I seen the preorder for it on PS4 the other day, "Buy RDR2 and get $500,000 cold hard cash for GTA Online." Really, they try to push gta5 online when selling this game.
