If you had to choose one, would you choose your exclusive or multiplatform library?

What if the game is ONLY available on PC? Because that's the library that I suppose I'd choose. Of course, you're trying to push an angle here, but my real choice wouldn't be based on either platforms or exclusivity, but simply compiling the best set of games I have up to whatever the allowable number is

Everything becomes multiplatform eventually; emulation does wonders.

@xantufrog: I see your predicament, and PC exclusive falls under exclusive ofcourse. Multiplatform games are less celebrated somehow, and I want to find and narrow down the cause of this phenomena by doing some research on the matter.

There are more quality multiplats that releases more often than exclusives.

My favorite games are a mix of multi-plats and exclusives. however, the games I have put the most hours into are PC Exclusives. I think, looking back, i'd take the PC exclusive library over the multi-plat library.

looking forward, I'd take the multi-plat library over the exclusive one.

@monkey_seeker: Nicely said I agree completely, though a few exclusives and the so called console mascottes do add some flavour and perhaps unique game experiences. While the Playstation and Xbox have a similar controller schemes, Nintendo's controls have been different.

As an Xbox player, lets face it all I play is mostly multiplat.

Not entirely sure but seeing as most of my favourite games are PC exclusives then I guess I'll go with exclusives.

Most of the games I play are multiplatform because most of the games made are also multiplatform.

I got to have my Nintendo games so I would choose exclusives.

Exclusives help to give a console a unique identity and character. I like having multiple consoles that each have a different flavor of games that define it rather than having multiple consoles that are practically twins and therefore redundant and boring.

I'd choose Xbox. I don't give a shit who can play what on what. I CHOOSE to play with my friends on Xbox and God bless the United States

I would choose multi-plats, as obviously there are way more of them than exclusives. I couldn’t care less what my friends play. May Satan bless Canada.

The most memorable games I've played in my life have been exclusives. The games I'm looking forward to the most are exclusives.

I agree with Josh here. I been playing exclusive games for so long, there are also exclusive games I'm looking forward to playing later on.

Capcom, BGS, From, and all Indies .... I could do alright with only multi-plats. Id miss the exclusives, but Id hate to be cut off from these games.

Multiplats for sure. Only way I'd choose exclusives is if I was a Switch-only owner.

Luckily us PS4 users don't have to choose as we have access to every multiplat + the highest quality exclusives in the industry. That's why PS4 is the runaway market leader this gen.

So in other words if you listed a top 10 memorable games of all time there would not be 1 single multiplat in there???

Actually there's one but it shouldn't count: StarCraft... It was PC and N64.

@Pedro: It's not pride. Exclusives just generally seem to be more polished, take advantage of the hardware to the max, and just score high... Not all but most.

On consoles I would prolly go with exclusives library.

I could easily live with my PC, Switch and 3DS exclusives. I might also play a couple of PS4 exclusives.

I'd lose a few multiplayer here and there, but I think I would still end up on top.

I mostly play PC games so I guess multi-platform, since it seems like even games which are only available on PC still count as multi-plat according to your criteria.

There have been maybe 5 console exclusives in the past decade that I would have been sad to miss.

To me exclusives are just a shit tactic by console manufactures to get you to buy into their hardware trap. I just think of my games as, well... games.

MultiPlat, for sure. The exclusives matter, but there needs to be healthy 3rd party support. Sony has stuck to this formula very well throughout the years.

Multiplats because most first party exclusive suck today and are too overrated.

Exclusives, easily. If I only had multiplats, I wouldn't be able to play EU4 or CK2.
