Hello, I was playing Ys I & II Chronicles and it made me think, "why not make a thread asking the question in the title? "

And here we are. It happened.

Can be any system, as long as it's within the 8-16bit range.

1 game as well, not 25.

Renegade from the NES. Loved that game! Hell, I’d even play the old version if I could get it for Xbox.

Secret of Evermore. SNES. I would say Bionic Commando on NES but we already got that (and it was awesome). Other than that, Strider on NES would be great. That version was so strange and unique.

Remaster or remake? Either way, the answer is Super Metroid.

Please, and thanks. CT had a shitty remaster, so i'd like a true-to-form remaster. I don't need something like an FF7 Remake, but something more up-to-date.

Oh, shit. Too many to mention. As long as it's not a botched remake, FF 6 I guess. Also, Terranigma.

How could I forget this? Yes! But knowing SE, they will botch this if they ever remade CT.

First thing that comes to mind would be Zombies Ate My Neighbors. I love the original 16-bit charm of the game but I think it's a classic that needs to make a comeback in some way or another. I played it for the first time in 2015 & it still holds up so well.

Little Nemo: The Dream Master

Edit: A remaster of Battletoads would be awsome as well. Not that abomination they are currently making.

Id love to play the first two Road Rash games with better graphics, framerate and audio, also Desert/Jungle/Urban Strike.

But most of all I would love to see a remaster of Target Renegade. Originally released for 64k microcomputers but it was released later for the NES.

There are probably better picks like F-Zero and RPG's but... Desert Strike. I kinda miss this series of tactical helicopter games.

The original Phantasy Star was remade, but it isn't very good.

I guess you could call the Switch version as well, something of a Remaster, as in implements the Japanese audio, changes game-balance and adds in game map (which detracts from it imo)

Gen 3 & 4 remakes?

Super Punch Out from the SNES would love to see a new version on the Switch. The Punch Out for Wii was really good. Nintendo needs to make a new one.

SNES True Lies, that game was really great. Feel like it would translate well.

As for any other games, spiritual successor to Bill Laimbeer Combat Basketball could be fun. But the original, as much fun as it was, does not work well today.

Yeah every time I search for images this game pops up, I somehow missed this when it launched. Was looking for a way to play it but it doesnt seem to be available on modern systems or GoG. I will keep a lookout for it.

Sega Ages version is nice, adding a map is great touch.

Are we talking Sonic Mania, cause there are all sorts of classic style games that no one ever reiterated on, probably cause nothing much more loved than Sonic.

I guess I'd do more Gauntlet and Wizards and Warriors.

Intel 80386 is a 32bit CPU aka X86-32, IA-32.

AMD64 = X86-64, 64bit CPU.

There's open source middleware that enables WIndows 10 X64 to run 16bit WIndows apps without emulation.

X86 CPU = king for software investment protection i.e. "last man standing" ...

Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake from the MSX with the scope of an 8-bit graphics game, but with the processing power of a 16-bit one, like a what if scenario akin to Sonic Mania (the latter being: what if classic Sonic got a Saturn game?), and a sound driver to faithfully recreate its music, because it was awesome! Make the necessary adjustments to fit the game in a 4:3 area with the radar, weapons and items display to its side for an aspect ratio of 16:9, with minimal scrolling inside the screen before it changes. Make it so that Solid Snake can walk behind geometry in perspective and not just where it ends on top. Use the old portraits or create all new ones based on whom the developers believe to best represent the characters. Many things that don't affect the gameplay really.

Bruce Lee (Commodore 64)

Fist II (Commodore 64)

Crazy Taxi (Dreamcast)

Final Fantasy 5 (SNES)

If any of these games get remade I will be one happy gamer.
