This is in terms of Gaming  :D

Reasoning:

Nintendo - UNC:  had an established/proven basketball group in the 80's to early 90's; lost some footing in the mid-90's but is now re-emerging as the dynasty it once was.

Sony - Duke:  became a more recent basketball dynasty in the early to mid-90's, power started to wain in '03-'04; and at the moment they are in a weakened state.

Of course this is just my attempt at a creative analogy of the console wars.  Agree/Disagree?  And where would you put Microsoft?

I'd say they are a Florida. Originally excelled in something different (football and software), but now are the number 1 in both

I think you need to pick a rivalry that has three parties. Here's how I see it: Nintendo- Denver Broncos Microsoft= Kansas City Chiefs Sony- Oakland Raiders If you know football, then you know that these three teams absolutely hate each other.

Duke is overrated just like the ps3

UNC is good but I dislike them

SEC is better in football and basketball anyways, so pick from one of them. UNC and Duke suck ass at football so...

Well as far as basketball goes Microsoft would be UConn because they always have great shooters such as Ray Allen, Richard Hamilton and XBox has Gears Of War and Halo

I think the more appropriate analogy would be major league baseball

sony=the yankees the team everybody who aren't already fans loves to hate, very succesfull with a very big and loyal fanbase

MS=the red sox also a big fanbase but not quite as big as the yankees, always contends but very rarely wins it all.

nintendo=okland atheletics spends little money and tries new ideas to be sucessful, and are always competitive

UNC grad here. Not a bad analogy, and I must say I enjoyed watching Duke lose last night.

As an englishman, I have no clue what you americans are going on about. So, in Premier League (english soccer league) terms, here is how I rate the three: Nintendo: Manchester United- Were king for a while but lost their touch a few years back. Now they are getting their way back to the top. Microsoft: Chelsea- Used money to get big and are now a very big player Sony: Arsenal- Took over after Man U and reigned supreme but lost their touch recently
