I'd be down for that. GTA Online let you make female characters so there's no reason they couldn't use one for the single-player. They could probably have her be something like Missy Elliott.

She'll have to be a hardcore lesbian, crazy, and messed up in the head with a splash of badass. The lesbian part will be to tend to the straight males who don't want their character to go to girl nightclubs and date guys. And at the same time, it makes Rockstar look pc-friendly. That's why I think they would go that route.

But personality-wise, that was mainly my take on what kinda woman would do the crazy shit the typical GTA protagonist does. She'd have to be a little crazy, wreckless, unpredictable and strong minded. If you're okay with all these things then yeah, it could happen. Don't surprised if she looks butch though! lolz

AS many suspected, GTA6 will be a next-gen title. A true next-gen GTA is more than welcome. IF i play as a badass girl or something wont matter ... too much... but forget that, wont happen.

...seriously, though, I don't care. If they really want to shake things up, they'll make the person a legit hero instead of a likable villain. But that's not really what GTA is about.

That would be excellent. Trying to break into the macho, sexist world of gangsters and crime as a tough-as-nails lady? Sounds class. Much more interesting than just another down-on-his-luck dude trying to recover from humiliations and achieve "success" (Claude, CJ, Niko, Franklin) or violent psychopath (Tommy Vercetti, Trevor)... (Michael gets a pass for being a bit different and interesting!)

This is what wider society is discussing at the moment, for better or worse.

God Of War isn't a **** simulator in 2018 and System Wars has more interesting topics than pixel counting in 2018.

They just need a character creator that gives people the option to make their own GTA heroes, like Saints Row has done. Seriously don't know why giving players more options like this is suddenly such a bad thing.

I don't mind it if the story calls for it, but if it is just for SJW reasons of pushing diversity just for the sake of pushing diversity, I'm not down with that. Just like with other forms of entertainment, diversity is good if it makes the product better, but when it is just forced in where it doesn't really fit just to push an agenda and appeal to SJWs, that's a bad thing and does more harm than good.

I disagree. GTA's protagonists already have too much personality. I wrote this a few years ago:

I think the main character should be more the silent, uncharismatic type, so that your actions contradict the story less. He or she should be an antihero. I don’t want them to be mute, just more impassive and less talkative, like the hitman from Le Samouraï (1967). I want a guy who you believe could be a sociopath, but are not sure of. GTA gives too much information about its protagonists (usually making their morals pretty clear in the story) for some of the awful things the player does (can do). I also dislike the things the characters shout as they hit people and animals on the road. Nobody would yell at a deer they’ve just hit to evolve some ears.

But in Dan Houser's writing, everything is overdone.

why would you play a video game from a developer who might consider doing something like that?

They put 3 characters into the game last time, they sure could make one of them a woman next time. I meam, in the end it's just a videogame, why not experiment with it and pick up male whores next iteration and kill them in a parking lot? Same difference.

I understand that some games have less talkative protagonists too but that's not always a good thing. Especially when the developers are trying to immerse you into the world to the fullest. It's too much of a vital component in GTA to change now! It would ruin what they've been trying to do in recent years! Too drastic for the direction it's on!

I agree with that. No developer should feel pressured by a loud crowd to put in characters of a certain appearance or race/gender or behavior if the reasons are more political than preference/gameplay related. It should be a free choice for as much as capitalism allows for such a thing. And I think that if they choose to create characters and a story around characters that portray elements of life that are not covered very often, that that is a positively interesting thing to do.

I'd be fine with that as long it's not Trevor in a girl costume.

which is why I personally dont think 'feminists' should push for this but if that is what they want, everyone (including the developer) as the right to make up their own mind based on the arguements.
