I don't remember crash bandicoot being this hard

I got the n sane trilogy keep in mind I only played the 1st game or 2 & 3 the same ?

They had to rebuild it completely from the ground up so a few things ended up changing like the height in which Crash can jump.

The old Crash in 1 and 2 could scale a 4 to 5 box high jump easy because it corresponded to how long you held the X button.

The remake relies more on momentum which makes more sense but it adds an unwanted level of difficulty too. You now need a bit of a running start to make a long jump now. This issue makes Crash Bandicoot 1 even tougher than before but you can still plow through 2 and 3 as long as you have good enough reflexes.

Hitboxes have also changed slightly, from rectangular to oval-shaped (due to rendering being more capable). You'll consequently slip off ledges you would have otherwise made.

It's still mega fun but!

It uses the Crash Warped jumping mechanic making it frustrating to play the first two games because you'll be doing a simple jump and barely miss it.

It wasn't. The controls aren't as tight as they were in the originals and the camera angles and depth perception are off.

Its not that hard. You've just gotten used to modern games mostly being piss easy that it seems hard.

hold x to jump longer and you will never die again.As soon as you let go of X crash starts to plummet down. finished cb1 with 99 lives, warped with 70+(warped was easiest) cb2 with 10 cos i didn't know about that lol
