I am extremely angry, bitter and jealous MS bought so many studios.

Ones I care:

Ninja Theory - makes great hack & slash games

Obsidian - Makes great RPGs

InXile - Makes great RPGs

Double Fine - Loved Psychonauts

The others are either already working with MS or are shit

Glad games in development are still multiplat but I hope future games are still multiplat as MS goes towards 3rd party.

I wish Sony would acquire some cool studios too :(

Sony already has great studios.

Sony has great studios, AND actual console exclusives. This is why MS went on a buying spree in the first place. A good number of Japanese releases on PS4 are exclusives by default.

If it's any consolation, you can still play the MS releases on Windows.

Angry and bitter over videogames? Sheesh. Theres a lot of angry, bitter people out there, but cmon its just videogames and not an aweful decision you made or anything.

Look on the bright side there have been some amazing releases this gen. Breath of the Wild was a system seller.

1. Just because they bought the studios doesn't mean they are making games that are gonna be AAAA exclusives you will sorely miss out on.

2. All the games will probably be on PC anyway so if they are AAAA caliber games you can play them there

Why bitter when the games will be on PC? I reckon its a win for everyone especially since every PS4 gamer here has a highend gaming PC. So, I am bit confused.

Oookay. Sony is already ahead of Xbox by like, 60 million systems, PSN alone makes more than all of Microsoft Game Studios, and MS buying those devs are a guarantee of nothing. I can't imagine how Sony could dominate any more at this point.

This is the reason why studio acquisitions have become the new worst talking point in gaming, because it distracts from actual games.

There success with PSN is why they are focusing on gamers being able to have the Playstation Experience with or without a console.

Is it accurate to say that my perception of how MS nurtures studios differs from how Sony nurtures studios is quite different? It's just my (anecdotal) view that Sony's first party studios have found more success putting together hits on a more consistent basis than the studios absorbed by MS.

You are not wrong. The "old" MS and Xbox division was under shit management even in the 360 era. The change Xbox is experiencing is a corporation change which is more focused on the importance of human assets than just racking up the numbers.

They did buy up some good studios. I'm hoping said studios really get to make their "dream games" as promised with the limitless financial backing from Microsoft. I'm interested to see what they all come up with.

DMC:Devil May Cry was a good game. Don’t know why hard core dmc fans hate it. Excited to play another ninja theory on PC.

Sony is going to do the same. The deal with MS pretty much puts the plan in motion for Sony to build up PSNow and offer up a service comparable to Gamepass.

E3 2020 Sony will probably come out swinging, fanboys will be hurt when games release on pc and streaming apps but gamers will rejoice having options and get a banging service with Sony acquiring studios(along with its notorious 1p studios)like From Software, Kojima Productions, Insomniac, platinum games, etc... All the studios growing n forming multiple teams creating more games and always bringing fresh content on a consistent basis like Gamepass is going to do with XGS.

No need to be angry, MS just gave Sony the blueprint to create even more.

BTW, I was really bitter when MS acquired Ninja Theory (love their games), because i hate the MS Store, but since we are getting the upcoming MS games (Gears 5, Halo TMCC...) via Steam now, there's a good chance all the other will end up there as well...
