How does it compare to PC tech demos and where would you place it on the PC tech demo list (i.e. what graphics chip)?
Here is the clip if anyone still hasn't seen it:

First of all Nintendo can't even name the dev team who did it ... we don't even know what the engine is. The Wii-U won't produce anything of that quality.
The problem with tech demos is that it's hard to tell just what could be carried into an actual game, and what looks amazing, but could never coexist ina game engine runnign pathfinding, AI, various effects, etc, etc.
Take a look at this old Nvidia tech demo:

It ran on a GTX 200 series vidoe card. But we have yet to see games with a ton of character that are THAT detailed. And we won't for another 5+ years.

From what Digital Foundry said, the water looks incredibly similar to the water found in Gears of War 2. For some reason I wanna think Epic made it because it does look like something they could easily do and they already love Wii-U. A more realistic guess would be Retro.
We don't exactly know that. The Zelda tech demo looked great and they admitted that was very rushed. Also the tech demo looks even better if you see the uncut video that has more footage.

But Epic is the type of dev team that would want full credit for that if they did make it lol. I just can't see a team like Epic going unannounced like that. But Epic is the type of dev team that would want full credit for that if they did make it lol. Epic kept quiet about working with Microsoft for developing the 360 specsfor a few yearsif I remember right.:P
Uhh that tech demo isn't even that impressive. I'm sure the Wii-U will most certainly produce better.First of all Nintendo can't even name the dev team who did it ... we don't even know what the engine is. The Wii-U won't produce anything of that quality.

That video they showed during the conference (and the link you provided) is worse and shorter than what they had on the floor. Here's the full video with improved features (offscreen however): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2Nsa06KRLo
It's pretty good for being made on early hardware. I'll reserve full judgement until we actually see something on the finalized specs.

Compared to anything on a PC its old news though, regardless I still doubt the Wii-U can produce anything like that.First of all Nintendo can't even name the dev team who did it ... we don't even know what the engine is. Kind of reminds me of these shogun 2 pictures:
Just swap out the hundreds of guys and horses for... a bird.

lmao, i came in to say just that.
its shogun 2 without the scale:P
its not like tech demos matter much, i remember tech demos for the ps3 looking alot better then the actual games themselves. Heavy rain comes to mind.

*cough* Alan Wake pc version *cough*It was sub-par at best, the kind of tech demo's that you see these days are just mind blowing and the Wii U Japanese Garden demo was fairly middle of the road compared to most.
The demo was meh if it was a pc gpu demo I doubt it would have even been shown. The r700 has some ruby demo's that crush that bird demo.

I dont think that tech demo was ever released.... So I'm calling BS that a 4870 could run it. And I think the Wii U has a similar GPU as the 48XX series.
Im not making any assumptions/judgements till 2 things happen.
1. We actually get a direct feed video not a video of a video showing the demo, also when i say direct feed i mean of a recent version of that bird demo since the one on the show floor was improved upon fairly significantly compared to what was shown during Nintendo's E3 presentation according to some of the people who witnessed it first hand.
2. We see a direct feed of that demo redone on the new versions of the WiiU dev kits that devs will be recieving within the next month or so.
