How much you rate Xbox performance this gen?

Oh look another cow who wants to talk about Xbox, how original.

Pro: Elite controller, BC I guess.

Con: Everything else.

I'm happy with the state of MS gaming division:

• Renewed focus on PC gaming
• Windows 10 is really good, for the most part
• Brought Age of Empires back

I can't speak as a Xbox fan, because eventhough I own Xbox 360 and Xbox One, I just enjoy PC gaming more.

I give it a 5/10 as I was the original owner of Xbox One back then before MS decided porting their games on PC. Xbox One is a take it or leave it this gen but it does have my all time favorite game, Rare Replay and for only one game, that's really bad cause MS didn't have alot to go by for Xbox One. MS will always have my thanks for porting their games on PC makes it easier on my part.

Microsoft actually gets a decent score from me because they made all of their games available on PC. It's really the only way to play games, imo.

I gave 8/10. I came to the party late, I have only owned the One X for 14 months. But playing Gears 4, Forza, Halo, Far Cry 5, RDR2, Witcher 3 was great. I also played The Witcher 3 on the Pro but it really is much better on the X.

The exclusives line up was below expectations, but then again aside from Uncharted and TLOU I am not interested in the Sony exclusives.

Xbox was so bad this gen they only made 1 halo game and it sucked.

They made a dozen more forza’s.

Gears franchise is dead and 5 looks to be the worst one yet.

Constant flops.

The Xbone is a glorified xbox360 minus the games LOL

The brand literally fell off the radar. Microsoft is probably scratching their head as a whole thinking, "the 360? Howd we do that?"

My time with Xbox One was OK, I barely used it, but my time with X has been great and used it a lot, my One usage is like a 3, but X is like an 8, lowest I'd go is 5. The first one was lame as hell, and only really used for GTAV, and eventually sold it. The X was amazing day 1 and still is a great machine. I didn't touch a single 1st party game on my One, but on X, I played a dozen of them.

Compared to PS4, I was all PlayStation going into 8th gen and hated their machine, felt PS3 was better. Then I liked the Xbox bundles more than PS4 so skipped it for Xbox, and although I loved my PS4 Pro when I got it, it became real lame after doing the best exclusives within first year, and about a year later getting the X, it made the Pro look pretty weak.

I appreciate what Microsoft did for PC gaming and I think they're making great moves with the Xbox brand moving forward (Gamepass, Xcloud). However that all came up towards the very end of this gen and the rest of it was terrible.

I'd give them a 5/10 and that's just because they made great hardware. I haven't seen a system so starved of noteworthy exclusives since the Vita.

I’d rate it an 8 out of 10.

They started out very poorly with the Xbox One reveal but have done a really good job turning things around over the course of this generation especially with the Xbox One S, Xbox One X, and providing backwards compatibility with the Original Xbox and 360. They provide a fair amount of first party games that I have really enjoyed but have had a few rough ones as well. They are really buffing up their game studios recently and that bodes very well for the future. I still find the Xbox ecosystem to be my preferred place to play any multi platform games and the Xbox One controllers are currently my all time favourite controller.

Started as a 3/10 and it's now a 7/10. It still doesn't (and probably never will) have the exclusive library competitors do, but thanks to Phill Spencer Xbox is relevant again. When Xbox One was revealed, with its forced kinect, i honestly thought it wouldn't sell more than 15 million units through the whole generation.

I say 8/10 now

they started out pretty bad but made up for it with dropping Kinect, Game Pass, BC, and releasing most of their exclusives to PC. Heck if they would have started out with all that it might be a tighter race in the console wars.

But I can see people skipping Xbox this gen and they wouldn't miss out on too much. Compared to the PS4 and Switch something seems off about the Xbox One....and I think it has to do with worthwhile exclusives

The only thing that xbox loses points for me is lack of exclusives and the under powered initial hardware. It's got a better online service, a more cohesive multitasking experience(basically doing anything midgame getting in and out and back to playing seem quicker and easier). The dual shock setup still sucks imo, being less uncomfortable is not the same as actually being comfortable.

If this was the days where the exclusive delta was tons of 3rd party games rather than a handful of 1st party ones I'd have knocked the score down more, but the reality is that with the number of games in these libraries pretty much everyone is going to find enough games they want in just about every genre regardless of what system they pick.

At the start of the gen 3/10. The Kinect and original checkin DRM for games, and price are what really killed the xbone this gen. Lack of proper platform exclusives also factors in there. But coming from how it launched to where it is now is a good start for next gen.

Like it or not exclusives do matter. And while Microsoft puts nearly all of their games on PC Sony and Nintendo give reasons to own their platforms each gen with 1st party exclusives.

The X1X is a great console that was nearly dead on arrival due to lacking quality 1st party titles that took advantage of it. Just my two cents. Take it as you will.

Crackdown 3/10

Its the most used console since most of the games I play are multi-platform and Gamepass is freaking awesome. 8/10

Xbox 7/10 their exclusives have been meh, great online options love gears 4 horde mode and both gears and halo have great online but single player was lame.

Microsoft as a whole I give a 9/10 love play anywhere and gamepass is a great value.

I preferred the Xbox One over the PS4 the entire generation. The only ding was resolution/performance of multiplats vs the PS4. But the garbage ass DualShock 4 nullified that advantage pretty quick. I also thought the launch lineup for the Xbox One was better than the PS4’s. That advantage didn’t last long though.

The PS4 is probably my least favorite console of all time if I’m being honest... Well no, wait. The PS3 is my least favorite. Then the PS4.

Strange thing I owned more xbox one hardware then any other console. It got redundant and no longer as appealing as the other consoles. Xbox as a hardware is low but Microsoft doing great things.

At the beginning, it was really bad. MS have made huge strides in increasing quality across the board... They really need to keep that momentum, and I hope that they do. Overall, i'd say a 6, but only accounting for the later years, it'd be a 7.

Love my XoX and I love playing Gears 4, FH4, and FH3. Game pass is awesome and I think putting their exclusives on pc was a great move. Overall, 8/10 only because they don't have all the exclusives I would ask for.

Just for information, I did used to own one but traded for Switch. Dunno if its even the right move, my switch is full of dust and I mean it, probably have some pics of xbox and switch in my profile gallery.

Unsurprisingly, currently "Xbox is dead/10" voted by 22% of users is leading the chart. Yearly Forza wasn't enough to convince everyone?

The console itself, it's perfectly fine and It's better than the PS4 IMO however just the complete lack of games made it terrible.

Never used one except maybe one time. I give it points for its strong BC, Gamepass and power / design of the X1X. I'll say 5 out of 7.

It's funny how you need a X1X to see major improvements in BC. Literally seen vids where the S changes absolutely nothing, now that sucks.

I'd give it a solid 8. More of the games I want to play compared to PS4 and switch, GP is great value for money, BC is best this gen, great controllers, good variation of genres, the best performance with x1x as well as the only console that can handle UHD discs, amazing aesthetics and noise levels, more useful apps like Kodi and Alexa support, better updates with features like Dolby vision and Atmos, and ultimately it just has more games to play than any other console out there.

Im missing an epic single player exclusive before giving it a higher score, but it really isn't a priority for me.... Simple games like Ori, Cuphead and Sea of Thieves appeal to me way more.

I will admit, I didn't think older game needs the 4K treatment but let's take Red Dead Redemption as an example. That game will never get a remastered treatment and as such, seeing it on Xbox One X at first hand is a huge difference compare to the original which didn't aged well. RDR in 4K from using Xbox One X BC is as close as we'll ever gonna get for a remastered. If I were MS, I wouldn't bother with the S at all and force gamers to go buy X despite it's pricey, I can see the benefits with X.

Didn't think anyone cared about Xbox outside a handful of Americans and the odd Australian, Canadian. They could of saved themselves the pain of buying two boxes or maybe three and bought a PC, Xbox is an expensive hobby.

The gamepad is awesome, the (''exclusive'') games are... err... quite a huge letdown (except for Forza Horizon series, Killer Instinct got me back to fighting games and...uh... that's about it for me) but thanks to the complete failure of the OG console launch, we get all the games on PC as well, so that's a REALLY good thing.
Objectively, if you look for multi-platform games (and that's a huge majority) and are PC illiterate, X1X is a way better console choice than PS4 Pro.
Subjectively, PC+PS4 (old ''jet engine'' FAT model, then Slim, now Pro) was this gen for me... I get access to basically every game on the market, except for the two Nintendo exclusive games i maght have cared about...
