Sony has no problem announcing sales figures. Why is Microsoft still being so secretive? Are the numbers THAT bad?

Very sad how Microsoft is ashamed to announce the actual units sold themselves. They are humiliated that the "fastest selling Xbox console" is still getting stomped by the PS5.

@NathanDrakeSwag: Not sure exactly what you mean by that but Sony is once again in a good place. Not quite 2 to 1 but potential to get there.

Is this a troll thread. I'm sure this disingenuous question has been asked frequently.

It's because the numbers are watered down by Gamepass. Which is what matters to MS which is why those are the numbers they give you. And they update those more frequently than Sony updates their PSNow numbers... Wonder why.

Even cows are playing MS games via Gamepass.

They haven't announced hardware sales in years, and are clearly more focused more on userbase/software.

Nah, what they are focused on is spinning bad numbers into a positive PR statement. If they were beating Sony they would be shouting it from the rooftops.

After all this talk from lemmings about "arrogant Sony" and all the other laughable shit they say it's hilarious that Sony is already slapping Microsoft around again after only 8 months into this gen.

No one knows. They can't keep getting the company to waste money on their fanboy holy war if investors actually knew how much they blow chasing Sony's tail around 🤣🤣🤣

The game is profitable and it has sold to more than 5% of the install base. It's a successful new IP for Sony. Not sure where the spin is at.

Microsoft Ashamed ROFL

I can imagine them now cowering in a corner wondering when there next Xbox will sell.

Microsoft's focus has not been the number of boxes sold for a long time. They are all about subscription and thats going up and up in all areas.

Lame desperate thread.

Because Microsoft is not brave enough. They're better of focusing their attention on Xbox Game Pass and become a subscription service business and exit the console market :D

6.5m, not much more than X1 of the same period. As I said, Xbox appeases the American market, in that regard the sale numbers are good.

I picture you as a 13 year old who's mommy only buys you Playstation products every Christmas, so you're forced to hate on everything else. Pretty cringe to be honest.

funny how both sony and xbox fans don't realize if they both had the same amount of consoles that month it be a tie in console sales. ps5 might sell a bit faster but they both would sell all those units except the series s lol.

@sts106mat: dude, pay attention to your own faction. Lems talk about Playstation all day as well, guessing they're not happy with their console? It's called system wars for a reason or do you miss that detail every time you come here?

That is objectively false. Xbox is the most talked about console and talked about most by Sony fannies. Exhibit A this thread. Have a thread about PS and the first goons to talk about Xbox are Sony fannies.

What we do know is that hardware sales are no longer a good way to gauge the success of the Xbox brand.

Remember all those post about PS4 being a success because the competition was weak? MS shot themselves in the foot and the Wii U was a flop, ect...

But but this time it will be different because the competition is better. Game pass is the best value in gaming and will disrupt the market and so forth. Yeah, that didn't age well.

PS5 is selling better than the PS4 even with "stronger competition" and at a higher price point.

Lol..The Xbox fans

So what you're saying is Sony is clapping their cheeks again.

YOu can look at it that way. But, MS also has 23 million Game Pass subscribers.

In the end, it's all about games sold, not consoles sold. If MS sells as many games as Sony with less consoles sold (which both sell at a loss), who had the better net profit?
