How Important is your XBL/PSN account to you for next gen choice?

One factor this gen switch has that others didn't is we have a bit of content provider lock in.  You have friends list, games and dlc you may have bought (although whether they will carry over is still far from certain), and variious other little bits all tied to your PSN/XBL account.  So, how will that affect your choice on which next gen game system to buy?  Would potentially giving it up be a big deal or shrug worthy?

For me personally it is mostly not important, just a minor plus if I get to keep it, but what about you guys?

I'm getting both, but whatever most of my friends have will be my main console.

It's not going to affect my choice much. While continuing on my Xbox Live account would be nice, if I feel the PS4 is a better console I will get that instead.

really depends on the games.

it will be one of the single biggest factors I have 99 xbla games and 67 or so on the ps3 there is no reason for the current gen systems to not be have BC

If I can't transfer my PSN purchases over to the PS4 then Sony can go fvck themselves and this it will be yet anohter reason why Steam is the far superior service.

Personally I plan on getting all "Nex Gen" Consoles so it really doesn't matter, however if I had to choose just one it'd still just come down to the exclusives and multiplats.

Games are the most important thing to me. However since I know sony will deliver next gen in contrary to MS, I know I'll be keeping my PSN account. MS can surprise me with great games next gen idk but I really really doubt it. Also the Pay to play online thingy is a big NO for me

New system, new ID, new trophies would all be fine with me. If I keep the same one is also fine with me. Doesn't matter.

I want to keep it, because I suspet things I have bought will have some weight in transferring over.

Pretty important, I've sunk alot of dough into my XBL account (especially on Rock Band song), I would expect the xbox to be backward compatible for all 360 games and arcade titles. As for the points/trophies I don't really care at all...

IT's not that important to me since I can always add my friends again.  Truth be told I picked a stupid name for my PSN account not knowing that I would be stuck with it.  I hope Sony atleast gives me chance to change it when I sign into PSN for the first time on a PS4.

Also trophies/achievements mean nothing to me.

Not very important. The only time I use it was to log in to Uncharted MP so I can capture some screenshots from the UC Cinema.

I imagine this will be a big deal for a lot of people, but I honestly don't care at all.

Fairly important, of course the games matter most.  I really hope they let us keep our current gamertags.

Don't care. I can make arrangements to reconnect with the friends on my list that really matter.

Not really a factor for me. I won't be trashing my old console so it's not like I'll lose the stuff on the HDD. If either console maker got rid of all of your previous stuff, that'd be dumb, but it wouldn't have an impact on my buying decision.

it's going to be a big factor, maybe not the most important but a big factor, being I have a pretty sizable collection of downloadable games on both my Xbox 360 and PS3

Not at all. I don't have any platinum trophies or anything.  Plus I want to change my name and PSN doesn't allow it. Hopefully it will be an option for the new system.

Not a factor for me.  I rarely game online these days and when I do its usually not on consoles.  I'm not too heavily invested in my downloaded content either.

If a platform has games that I like then I'll pick it up.  Chances are I'll end up owning them all at some point.

I couldn't care less about my actual account, but there's no way in hell I'm paying for Xbox Live.

Very important for all my digital purchases; not so important for trophies/achievements.

I have a ridiculous amount of downloaded content on my PS3. Too much to consider parting with it for a PS4 if it won't carry over.

really close zero, I care little for my achievements or trophies. I barely talk to or play friends on either of those services.

You're dreaming if you think those are going to transfer over.

if the next console is BC with the Xbox 360 games I don't see why it's hard to think they'll allow for transfer of XBLA games

Don't care about my trophies/gamerscore. I only want to transfer my purchases and friends list.

My friends list means nothing to me in my decision making. I will have a friend's list regardless of which system I buy. My downloaded games will still be on my PS3 even if I bought a microsoft console next gen, so I see 0 reason to care about that either. PS4 is my only option next gen though, so all this is really irrelevant to me.
