Hey System Wars! Was just reading about some new cod game coming out and I realized I have not played a cod game since the original black ops.

The series is dead for me.... Doubt I'll ever return.

TheEroica - KIA

Completed COD2, COD4:MW, MW2 and BLOPS1

Scattered at sea

Are you STILL playing cod? How far did you make it if not? If you are playing cod, why? What could possibly bring you back each year?

I've never bought a COD game in my life, and I don't intend to start now.

I think it was the first Modern Warfare back in 2007. I get pretty bored with online FPS games. People give games like Assasin's Creed and JRPGs hell for being stagnant, but in my opinion online FPS is in the exact same boat. I put Call of Duty in the same template as a Dynasty Warriors musou game. Different setting, same thing. Only in this case you have 12 other musou games doing the same thing too.

Never bought one. Finished CoD2 on the launch week of the 360 by renting it at my local spot that is now closed for over 10 years. Since CoD2, i tried MW2 for about 1h online at a friends house back in 2014 or so. Ever since, 100% of everything related to CoD was skipped. This franchise can F off.

Yea, about the same, think last one played as Black Ops.

Now kinda view it as Burger King or Mcdonalds. Almost every year, on point, Gamespot shills the living hell out of it, spamming the front-page into a massive ad with any frivolous shit they can dream up, and think... "uhhhh"

Never going away, at best, it's just annoying, so try to ignore it.

I couldn't even finish last Black Ops and I am done. With the game sizes these days I won't bother on that alone.

The last one I played for any meaningful amount of time was CoD2, so I don't think I'd go back at this point.

The last one I enjoyed was the first Black Ops, but I did buy Ghosts and the new Modern Warfare. The last two were mistakes.

The last Call of Duty game I played was Infinite Warfare. I really enjoyed it and still enjoy the franchise but just haven’t picked up the last few games. A case of too many games to play. Wouldn’t mind getting back into it though. Vanguard looks pretty good.

Same as me. Haven't played a COD game since Black Ops 1. In truth, I had already decided that playing one COD game was basically playing them all and quit on the series even before BLOPS1; it sat on my shelf for 6 years before I finally got around to completing it. As you can probably tell, it did not change my mind.

I’m gonna ignore that silly jab at me, and just come in here to say y’all should play the Infinite Warfare campaign. It’s the only shooter campaign besides Advanced Warfare that’s remotely interesting. But I’d put Infinite Warfare up there with Titanfall 2. It goes places and does some things really well. It’s a shame they completely abandoned that type of campaign and setting. Especially for some silly historical nonsense.

I get why SW doesn’t like COD multiplayer, BR’s or any multiplayer for that matter. Y’all a bunch of scrubs. And that’s ok. You all have hand holding single player campaigns to make you feel like you’re good at video games.

Peaked in my middle school/high school days with Modern Warfare, World at War, and Black Ops. Black Ops 2 came out when I was in college and we had all moved on by then, but I did get it and didn't really like it. Then I tried one more time with Black Ops 3 and thought it was even worse so that was the last one for me.

I played CoD Blops 2 on Wii U and CoD Mobile but I'm not attracted to the series. I prefer something closer to fiction and more removed from reality.

Last COD I player with any level of effort was the Modern Warfare reboot and Warzone. I had skipped a couple of entries in between but I'm not getting back in unless MW2 reboot happens and looks worth it.

CoD4 was the last one I put serious time into. Might have bought another after that, can't remember.

Occasionally play some co-op just for shits when I hang with the bros. They're not really into games like that, just catch a buzz with some CoD and Fight Night on rotation. On some dusty old PS3 lol.

Not on the "it sucks" bandwagon, wouldn't even know. Just if I wanted to play a mp shooter, there's other stuff I'd rather play. And realistically, the only mp I care for now is fighting games.

I tried playing one of the more recent ones and I spent more time watching or being interrupted. Prior to that, I recall playing the demo when they were still using numbers.

The last one I played was Modern Warfare 2 and since then I stopped playing this series. I got sick and tired of Call Of Duty and even after 10 years, I still have no desire to come back to it.

I played and owned the latest CoD (Cold War) and did in fact thoroughly enjoyed it. I’ve owned every single CoD except for Infinity War. The only reason I got rid of Cold War was because it locked my ps5 2 times back to back, and because of the scarcity of actually acquiring one and getting my hands on 1 was quite “spur of the moment”, I didn’t get a warranty on it, so I’m very cautious of what happens to it.

I have not played the MP since Advanced Warfare and before that I think it was MW2. Black Ops 3 was the last campaign I played and it was terrible, which surprised me since they are usually decent mindless fun. I have not played any COD since then. I was never big on the series and the arcadey super fast gameplay is ridiculous. COD is just regurgitated trash targeting dumb casuals.

  • COD3 - 60 hours
  • COD4:MW - 350 hours
  • COD:WAW - 80 hours
  • COD: MW2 - 250 hours
  • COD: BO1 - 70 hours
  • COD: MW3 - 50 hours
  • COD: BO2 - didn't buy
  • COD: Ghosts - didn't buy
  • COD: AW - 30 hours
  • COD: B03 - 10 hours
  • COD: IW - didn't buy
  • COD: WWII - 99 hours
  • COD:BO4 - 282 hours
  • COD:MW / WZ - 539 hours
  • COD: BOCW - didn't buy

COD:MW is probably my second or third most played game of all time, but haven't really played it in 2021. Been far too busy with From software games and replaying Sony masterpieces like TLOU2, GOW, etc. on PS5.

I might get COD: Vanguard. Considering a move to Battlefield, as long as they change up their shitty gameplay formula and fine tune the wonky controls its always had.

I love WW2 games, I would've in fact bought Vanguard if it's a WW2 game...

But it's not. It's as far removed from portraying WW2 as is possible (which was the entire concept of this series at the start). And just wants to censor everything that they don't believe in in their rainbow fantasy colored world.

Also these were actual skins in the previous WW2 game

Looks fucking stupid. Sledgehammer is not capable of portraying the war they chose to portray.

They are clowns and the only thing a clown can do is wear silly costumes for a quick laugh.

Every entry up to ghosts bought and played somewhat, somehow ended up with copies of AW and IW but never played either beyond a hey what's this about, never owned or played BO3, WW2 or BO4 stuck my head back in for MW/Warzone and played plenty of that, BOCW again ended up with a copy (gift) played it a bit but easily skippable game really, and Vanguard i've no plans to purchase or play but will likely carry on with Warzone for a while yet.

I made it up to MW2 and had to stop there, as the amount of balls it sucked was way too great. So I haven't played CoD since 2009.

I got COD4 a few months after it came out to see what the hype was all about. I was unimpressed by it didn't understand the hype it was a dumbed down game especially compared to the games I was playing at the time. Counter Strike Source and Battlefield 2 are leagues better COD4 felt like a FPS made for casuals that where new to first person shooters

last one i bought was advanced warfare kevin spacey edition ps4 which came with a free copy of modern warfare. tried to claim it for my ps5 and it turns out the code expired in 2019. this is why i still distrust digital on consoles. i do enjoy the old campaigns up to modern warfare 2. i have physical copies of cod1, uo, cod2, cod4 on pc but they're a pain in the arse to install so i've got them on my steam wishlist in case they ever fall in price. this is why i distrust physical on pc

I bought and beat CoD 2 and CoD 4 MW. My friend bought me Black Ops 2, BO 3 and Ghost so we could play Zombies/Aliens together. I don't play the campaigns or versus and only play zombies on those if he really wants me to. I personally wouldn't buy the games myself at this point. CoD 2 was amazing, and 4 just wasn't for me.

Not that far. I purchased CoD Modern Warfare which was quite good and some time ago downloaded the PS+ CoD remaster titles. For Modern Warfare I did enjoy the multiplayer buy never played CoD Warzone or the zombie modes.
