How did Halo 4 win Best Graphics of 2012... Was this year really that medcore??

But the gameplay is fantastic, so it's a great game. The graphics is okay but it could be better. Graphics king? Lol no.

As far as consoles go I'd say Halo 4 graphics are up there with the best of them. Console graphics peaked years ago, it's all smoke and mirrors these days from devs trying to convince the audience that visuals are still improving on 7 year old tech.

There's also a layer of blur in Halo 4, I think it's to cover the jaggies.

Indeed. 360 and PS3 are maxed out, so every looker will have advantages and disadvantages over the competition. Most graphics contenders on consoles are pretty linear (Uncharted, Gears, GoW, KZ, etc...). What impresses me the most in Halo 4, is how 343i managed to achieve the same visual level without cutting on scale!

They choose the winner on both technical and art style and Halo 4 hit the happy medium where as Journey was all artstyle and Far Cary 3 was mostly technical. With that said though I still think they should have two separate categories, Best technical graphics, and best art style.
