How did GTA 5 win game of the year at VGX?

It's a mediocre game at best.

GTA V will get its just desserts when award season arrives.

GTA V is phenomenal and will have the awards to back up that claim. Along with the sales it already has.

It doesn't deserve any of it because the game is mediocre at best. The game does absolutely nothing particularly well or noteworthy.

It's better than The Last of Us, mainly because The Last of Us is an awful experience, but it isn't better than 3D World. 3D World has actually fun gameplay and beautiful art and music and framerate and isn't a weirdly restricted open world game that runs at 20 fps where you spend 90% of the time driving back and forth and watching really terrible hamfisted cutscenes.

The SP was great. The amazing characters made it for me. I only played a few minutes of the MP portion but GTA is all about SP. MP is just a bonus.

I havent played TLOU yet but GTA V is my GOTY for now

It was a good game and people thought it deserved the award.

Look, sorry The Last of Us didn't win the award, but it didn't go unnoticed since the same people who voted for GTA V voted Naughty Dog over Rockstar for Studio of the Year.

I think The Last of Us won for me, followed by assassin's creed 4

GTA V deserves it. If you were on about GTA IV then I would agree because that game was dig shit.

TLOU is a close second.
