Available later today on Gamepass. Definitely going to give it a shot.
Looks exactly what i'd expect to see on GP. The kind of games that wouldn't even sell 100k otherwise. Shovelware.
@hardwenzen: You're right, but that's a good thing.
A lot of developers don't get to do small and creative projects because of how the industry has devolved into sequels and remasters.
If not for Game Pass, we wouldn't have a lot of small games like Pentiment, Grounded, Tunic

We need more avenues for games like these to get some of the spotlight. Triple A games have become to samey and cinematic. Time to make games more gamey.

True.
That looks cool. Has some fun visuals. Wonder why it got shadowdropped? Must be super short or something
Well, going to give it special consideration given it is Tango Gameworks, and it is on Game Pass. Then again Ghostwire: Tokyo should be on Game Pass in a few weeks. Surprised they got all that MS money backing them and this is what they make.
It is already on PC and so is Forspoken. So, Playstation has no games now too?

Honestly hoping that's the case. Tight arcade game, few hrs tops, meat of the game comes from refining the run, better scores.
Though when they showed the protag ascend over a cityscape (pretty as it looks), mild groan lol. Maybe just a facade, guess I'll see.
Looks fun enough though, installing now.
A rhythm game is not what I wanted from the devs of Evil Within 1+2...
Hopefully now they can get to work on EW3

PS5 never had games. Not literally, but that list on Wikipedia of exclusives is just sad. Was bound to happen with these budgets.

So, Xbox has no games and Playstation has no games. That leaves us with the obvious choice then....
but what if I don't have any rhythm?
Then I hope you find your special purpose one day, Navin
Looks fun, even if it might not be my type of game.
Like the art style, has a Dragon Prince kind of look to it (one of my favorite animated shows of the past few years) even though it's sci-fi.

Preach!
Of course all the lemmings are pumped for this shovelware. Can’t wait for all the “hidden gem” threads lmao
Can't say I'm all that into it so far, but it's not bad.
Has the typical action game annoyance of doling out new options a bit too slowly. Think it seems worse here as you're just so limited to begin with. Fortunately you do unlock cool strings that open the system up abit. And extra utility in the base kit that's not immediately apparent. For example, spacing the quarter note attack into halves to initiate a launcher. Able to dash or grapple to continue the combo from there, stuff like that. Not gonna be some deep action game, but fun enough when it all comes together.
Right now I'm digging it in concept more than execution. Feels weird having so many startup frames to your attacks, so the feedback of precisely landing on the downbeat feels off. Unlike your jump and dash that have that immediacy. Makes coming to this game with a strong sense of rhythm feel more like a liability lol.
More nitpicky, but think it'd be more interesting if it wasn't just quarters and halves. Allowing for actions on the eighths and sixteenths, maybe even triplets, would be way cooler. Maybe this opens up later, but kinda doubt it.
Early impressions tbf. Think I've only S ranked like two choruses, not like I have a grip on it all.
...you'll almost definitely want to skip cutscenes, checked out on that way early.
Impressions so far after ~30 mins of playing:
Well I almost gave up on it because the first 7 minutes is about 5 minutes of cutscenes, but the animation and art style is pretty cool so I stuck it out.
Like I said earlier, not my type of game, but I do think it's OK. The rhythm component is kind of neat, and it matches up with the character well.
I like the over-the-top voice acting and character design; we've got a hero, a mysterious ally (in the form of a helpful robo-cat), and like three villain types that fit well into certain tropes.
Only negative is the cinematics/interruptions so far. Otherwise it seems like a neat game.
How was Ghostwire: Tokyo? Never played anything from these developers before.

adding 1/8 and 1/16 note would be cool. Maybe with a dual-wielding option :D
I've only played 30 minutes so barely unlocked anything, maybe it happens later?
Idunno if I could click triplets fast enough on my mouse or a controller. Was able to do it when I played brass instruments though, so maybe.
I agree 100%.

One of the perpetual beef I have with modern games, the consistent and frequent interruptions to push the story. There is a lack of organic cinematics. It is one of the reasons I have put off playing God of War Ragnorak. I am playing Forspoken and it suffers from the same bullshit.
Ghostwire: Tokyo has a strong concept and a solid start but it never climax instead is flat lines and become a collector-ton after 5-8 hours.
@mrbojangles25:
Yeah, triplets in succession might be a bit much lol. But like sixteenth double taps and pickups? Would be pretty sweet.
At least eighths tho, like come on. Or just have faster tempos in general.
Think I'm a good ways in, seems unlikely to happen.
Though admittedly also becoming less of a gripe for me. Where I'm at now, have a turret and a grappling hook along with these new combo strings. Combats getting abit more interesting.
Can imagine some impressive looking combat for those who really dive in.
Game goes on way longer than I expected. Three times now I thought I was at the end, but nope!
Combat does get surprisingly good though. Get some nice enemy mixes that pull a lot of your assists and parries. The various strings you unlock aren't redundant either, all seem to have good situational use. Haven't even dabbled in other specials yet.
Eventually you don't even think much about the rhythm aspect, becomes muscle memory.
The interruptions never let up tho lol. Can skip most of it, but still frequent enough to be pretty annoying.
Usual gamepass fluff.
Its the kind of shovelware our lems enjoy cuz they forgot what's a good game.
@hardwenzen: Too much gameplay for you, we get it.
But for those of us who actually like to have some control input into games, this looks awesome. Can't wait to try it.
