Skype.

Yep, that's it. The only thing people want out of PSN they don't already have is party chat. With Skype integration, you not only have the ability to chat with people playing different games in a big lobby, but as an added bonus you can even talk to people on their PC or phones. NOT ONLY THAT but Sony won't even have to run the servers themselves! So it's cost effective for them and the users.

So now PSN is free and has every feature that XBL has and even better. PS4 online wins.

You'll need more than Skype, you'll need brand Loyalty.

But if you realize the general masses usually go where the developers go.

Many say the SNES was great but that was because there was a lot of 3rd Party Support. Many would say the N64 or Playstation were great, because of the third party support.

Some say Gamecube was good, but many say PS2 was amazing, that's all thanks to the 3rd party.

Look at the 360. What happened there? 3rd Party Happened. Xbox 360 had more 3rd Party Support than the PS3 and Wii and that's why it was the more popular system. (The Wii sold a lot due to Media hype.)

i think ps should partner up with google to handle all the os stuff....so maybe skype wouldn't be such a problem....

It can happen on any system is true. I know this, and that it is available on quite a few clients.

But might they (Microsoft) interfere with such a plan? (PS4 having Skype). I don't know, but they have the capacity to interfere.

Who knows what lengths MS would be willing to go to in order to gain an edge in the console market. MS don't have a product which direct competes against the PS Vita, but it is suspected they will for PS4.

Just a basic Party Chat application or whatever would suffice. When I chat with friends on Vita I use the Party app, not Skype, but options are always nice. I understand that voice quality would probably be better on Skype...but doesn't seem that big of a deal to me, as long as I can clearly hear the people I'm talking to.

PS4/Orbis will have Party Chat, almost guaranteed seeing as it is in Vita.

PS3 don't have RAM to spare for party chat.

Skype being put on PS4 may happen but I doubt it
